Did the spark plugs. All Denso pulled, so good to know somebody did the plugs before me at 150k. But they were all at .050+, so good I changed em. Gapped all to .04-.041.

only problem is the fouling on them. It’s an 05 so I am worried about head gasket failure. Previously owned a Subaru with bad head gaskets and I always saw white plugs. But I was used to seeing more white on the threads than these.

Am I reading too much into them, or do I have a problem?

Color looks fine, if your gasket is leaking to the point it affects plug color you will see other symptoms.

An oil analysis will also tell you.

Its a turtle (2005 4x4 Tacoma TRD Sport with 2.5 inch Rancho Lift, Airbags, BFG 33s on Helo 17s, Trail Gea rRock Sliders, Body Armor 4x4 Winch Bumper, Stegodon Winch, Other various things. Wrap is 3M G16 gloss light green on body and the shell is custom wrap from Pure Blind in Denver.
Im really into sea turtles, like sea turtle freak living in Colorado. Originally it started as a color match to my mountain bike which is exactly the same as the green on the truck and then when I was thinking about what to do with the topper I got a crazy idea to custom wrap a shell, purchased the vanity plate first and just ran wild with my innerchild. My three passions in life outside of my wife and furbabies are tacomas, scuba diving and mountain biking, I feel like this truck is a extension of that. Here is the 2005 4x4 tacoma before I started modding everything on her, shes been real good to me. Definitely keeping her for life. 20180331_164029.jpg 20180331_163959.jpg

I bought a 2012 a couple of weeks ago with 140k miles. The spark plugs were toast. The gap should be 0.042" and all were burned up and measured 0.075". One day I will do a full check of the coils. When plugs burn down that far it causes extra heat and wear on the coils. Front brake pads were original. So before I drove it another mile I drained the engine, radiator and overflow. Put new plugs, new coolant, new hoses, new serpentine, drained and filled differential, cleaned maf, replaced radiator cap, replaced engine and cabin air filters and, of course, new brakes. Been driving it a few days and runs fine. Still to do is transmission complete flush and fill (at dealer), drain and fill power steering fluid, drain, flush and fill with new brake fluid, clean the throttle body, and then more mods after that. Haven't even washed it yet. I can say, knowing that the original fluids and chemicals break down over time, that every fluid drained looked amazingly clean. Some people say don't fix it if it ain't broke. I say fix it now so it doesn't break.

Picked these up today off of a guy on FB for a really really good deal. Left UCA after I cleaned it with some Goo Gone. Right UCA of how it was before cleaning. The guy said they had about 35K on them. Should I replace the uniballs in them?
