Stock front hanger and archive hammer hangers with deavers. Shouldn't need to move anything should I?

If you are using stock length springs then no, you will just need to set pinion angle with the new spring perches.

Make sure the axle is centered under the frame.

yeah won't be too much different i guess. I just figure might as well go spring under before i go mounting up big shocks so i wouldn't have to cut of the shock mounts off the axle if i made the switch in the future. Rather just get it out of the way and gain the extra little bit of up travel

If you switch to longer shocks or a bed cage and what not you will still probably have to chop off shock mounts at the axle. Always best to cycle suspension and make sure you are bumping and drooling at the proper locations while keeping piston location at ride height where you want it

I don't think i'll ever go that far. Archive shock relocate and the 14s i have, and stock length spring under should be plenty. Isn't much wheeling around here that warrants much more than that besides crawling stuff which i'm not into that much. And yea i'm gonna take the time to cycle it and make sure everything works correctly before doing final welds

As in perpendicular to the frame? The little center pin on the leafs should do that as long as the spring perches are even, no?

Yeah since you are just moving the new perches under the housing you can use the stock perches to reference the new ones.

Sorry, I misinterpreted you saying going to bigger shocks thinking you may go even bigger in the future. Yeah if you’re doing the work now then do it right and go spring under

no haha still riding on absolutely cooked 2.0s in the back. Can't seem to get enough sunny days to mount up the new ones. Been raining nearly every other day pretty much the whole year, and the baja project still has lotsa unpainted metal so i don't wanna leave that outside to get the garage space cause if it rains it'll be covered in rust pretty much immediately even under a tarp

I figured it out, M10x1.0. All the ones I found online were a couple mm too long until I found this bike shop in TX.

I'm surprised you have banjo bolts instead of hard line fittings on your 2nd gen - yeah all our fittings are M10x1.0 but I didn't want to mention it because I was confused that you had banjo bolts. They must have changed it to hard line fittings by 2008 on my regular cab.

It's easier to just get custom stainless steel soft lines with a hardline fitting at both ends. You can go from the junction block at the frame and bypass the soft line hardware straight to the caliper and never have to deal with banjo bolts again which could help if you're stuck in a podunk town with one auto parts store and need a caliper from a 1st gen Tundra or cheap remanned one that won't have the machining for a banjo bolt.

I just had more made for my wife's 3rd gen 4runner with a 1st gen Tundra brake upgrade. FWIW 1st gen Tundra and 2nd gen Taco calipers are basically the same casting with the only difference being the location of the brake line port (and you'd want an opposite-side part because Tundras were rear steer hence the caliper is on the front).

I got these from G and J Aircraft in Ontario, CA. $75 shipped cut to your specified length.

    Normally it goes

junction -> hardline -> soft line -> hard line -> caliper

    but my LT kit goes

junction -> braided stainless line with banjo fitting -> caliper

So you’re right that I didn’t have one stock. And I could have a screw on fitting vs a banjo bolt but this is a bit nicer form factor IMO. Plus now I’ll have extra line and fittings to carry as a spare if this ever happens again in the future.

Edit: can kinda see it here.

Just keep in mind cheap parts store remans won't always have the machined surface - a first gen guy (all first gen Tacos have banjo bolts and machined calipers) with the Tundra brake upgrade got a caliper from a parts store when one of his froze in the middle of nowhere that wouldn't work with his banjo bolt and was a bit of good info he shared.

That’s good to know. I’ll have completely spare lines that don’t utilize banjo bolts so I should be covered if that ever does happen.

A couple of 10mm to -3 AN converters for the caliper and frame junction, and a universal braided line with -3 AN fittings. It’s what I had to do for a trail fix but had to use a 5’ long brake line since that’s what my friend had handy.

Crown Performance is a great place to find any brake fitting or custom line you need.
