First post. Got the Taco to access more terrain in Colorado for camping and exploring. It’s exactly what I needed.

First time out with the new rig 3 weeks ago. Camped at a little campground on the New River. Mile down from Sandstone falls outside of Hinton, West V. Had a great time with the new I-Kamper.

How long have you used the gotreads and have you ever had to use them for recovery? If yes, are they any good for recovery?

Most pics I see of them they are used as leveling blocks like you are (I assume these are gotreads, apologize if I am incorrect). I like the idea of them being dual purpose, but have not read good things about them in recovery vs. standard traction boards.

Where abouts in CT is this (or where in CT are you from)? I am in San Diego now but grew up in the northeast part of CT. Used to camp at Burlingame RI and Cape Code a lot growing up.

Yup, they’re GoTreads. I’ve had them for about a year and have used them for basic recovery with ice/snow with a SUV. They worked well for that but I haven’t used them with the truck yet.

The standard rigid traction board will be better than GoTreads pretty much all the time but I went with these to save some space and the dual use. I carry two in the bed on a molle panel above the wheel well and they slot in perfectly.

Between a shovel and GoTreads, I’m thinking this will suffice for 99% of the trails I run (up to moderate for now and no heavy mudding). Time will tell though.

I have to ask,was this anyone here? Yes i took this picture it is not fake i saw it with my own eyes. It was a white toyota pickup,1st gen, with a canvas truck bed tent all set up in the bed ,driving through the city in Maine( insert redneck joke here) traveling at 35 mph. I followed if for 4 miles and that tent is rugged for sure. LOL

    I want to share….

Took my truck (Topper is a loaner, white one is coming in four weeks, don’t be harsh.) over the current river while camping at Pulltite. The Ferry was closed and the shallow part becomes a crossing point.
