Any symptoms like 'fog' at the vents when it goes warm?

Was your recharge accomplished with a vacuum pump and gauges, or a parts house fix in a can?

You got a leak. Go to Lowes and pick up a Craftsman UV flashlight. It'll highlight the dye if there's a leak.

When you have a Freon leak it will produce a neon dye wherever it’s leaking. You’ll see it with the uv light. Usually ac lines, compressor, condenser, etc

When did manufacturers start adding dye to the refrigerant?

Some vehicles have dye added from the factory and some don't, the newer the vehicle the more likely it has factory added dye. I would wager that an 05 would not have factory dye but can't be sure.
OP would need service gauges to read both low and high side pressures to properly diagnose an A/C performance issue, those cans with the gauge on them that you can get pretty much anywhere get people in trouble all the time usually from overcharging the system.

Agree 100%. Thirty years in the HVAC trade, yet automotive A/C has just been a hobby. I was trying to clear it up for the op, spending time and money on an UV light doesn't seem like a great first move for a novice. Thanks for the input.

They put some dye in with the refrigerant. Makes it very easy to find a leak with a UV light.

Dye was in my '06. The uv flashlight showed me my leak at the expansion valve.
