He just took it from a specific angle. Saw it in real life, looks like roseanne's asshole. :poking:

I kid. Hey Paul, you want to show me which wire I splice to make my factory DTRLs on a switch? Have you tried an NGP CB antenna?

Also, dunno if I mentioned it, but I realized i have the same walmart special CB in the same spot. Remind me to show you what I did with it if you're interested, because I actually soldered a second mic jack to relocate it so it comes out under the console by my right knee.

I don't know how to put the dtrl on a switch. My truck didn't come with them, I just dug around the wiring to make my own.

I'm not worried about grounding the antenna. I use it like once a year to listen to truckers talking about bad traffic situations so I'm not real worried. And by rerunning the mic....does that mean you know the wire pinout of the 4-prong mic cable?

Well, I still would like to know where the module is stock, if you put your install in the same location.

Yeah, well, I actually just made sure I did a 1-to-1 match. if you crack open the case on the radio, there's plenty of room to solder 4 wires to the back of the stock jack and then run them out, down, and out the console to a female mic connector.

I spliced wires, no module. So about the cb mic, do you know if i would wire into it for a "constant open" type plug?

Constant open? You mean like always transmitting? It doesn't Rx when its Tx'ing, AFAIK. I thought it was uni-directional. So I don't see why you'd want that...

I did solder a little fix to make it always send audio to both the built-in speaker and the speaker jack though. Somehow as a byproduct, it stays on the last channel I set it on now after I turn it off, instead of resetting to 1.

Do you want a switch or something to be lazy and not hold down transmit? I'm sure you could figure out what's what with a multimeter very easily.

what I want to do apparently won't work because most mic's have a built in amplifier or something and an mp3 input from something like an ipod would distort severely and most likely not work. Oh well.

Ah, you want to play mp3's over CB radio or over your PA? You may be able to wire it directly to the mic socket. That'd be easy to play with to see.

Wire a 3.5mm plug to whichever 2 take the audio signal, and then wire a switch to the key up wires, dunno if it needs to be powered, you could check.

It does need power and I would have to worry about crossing impedences, aka awful sound. I've got a little 50 watt amp lying around that I lost the power cord to. Probably easier just to wire that up some how.
