That’s unfortunate. What speakers did you get?

Yea. I was debating on getting that amp but just couldn’t pull the trigger. I feel like an amp will only be beneficial (for me) if I get a sub

That’s actually a really good idea! Let me know if you end up doing that and what you go with

Put on a set of 21 TRD Off Road coilovers while I rebuild some Fox's. I'm actually very impressed with this updated coilover and it's road characteristics. I am also fitting 285/70/17 on 4Runner TRD Pro wheels with no rub and no coil spacer.

I just bought the same ones yesterday for $59 at BestBuy and found the Subaru tweeters brand new for $70 shipped on Facebook. A word of caution on rear speakers in your access cab. Waste of money and effort. I had a 2016 access cab and replaced the rears with Kicker cs speakers. I also had them in the front doors and the Subi tweeters in the dash. Front seat passengers really gain nothing with access cab rear speakers. I would apply that money to an amp and sub. I was slightly disappointed my 2nd gen access cab had no stock rears. When I gave it a thought I remembered not hearing crap from the rears in my 2016. The only way it might pay off is with a 6 x 9 in each rear door. The 6.5 rounds did nothing to enhance sound. I did not have an amp or sub in my 16 Sport. I did have entune premium non JBL. These speakers made a huge difference in bass and overall clarity in that truck. Not expecting a whole lot in my 2012 with the stock HU. I do plan on putting a double din touch screen in when I figure out which one my rear camera will easily connect to. One thing I hate, after having the big screen in the 2016, is trying to follow the rear camera on the mirror.
PS the cheap stock 6x9 in your doors are the same ones that are in the non JBL 3rd gen. In fact I used 1 from my 16 to replace a blown one in my 12 passenger door.

Yup. Can’t beat the price. Out of curiosity, the speakers a 3-way so why you get tweeters?

I agree on rear speakers. I was just gonna replace them just cause price on speakers were so good but yea really no need for them. What are your thoughts on 6.5” subs in the rear doors?
^ not my orgional thought. Got from @Kuntrykid :hattip::cheers:

Idk when that's gonna be but front door speakers I'm gonna get rockford 6x9 300w on each side w/ a 250w mini motorcycle style amp to hide under passenger side seat sooner then later due to my factory speakers dying after 6 yrs.

I was just telling @jkauf that I wanted to put subs on the the access doors which would be ran off a different amp

It would probably be easy if it was a 6.5” sub.. maybe?

The stock tweeters, just like those in the dash of my 2016, are there originally for a reason. They add clarity to, and direct, highs that are barely heard in the 6x9 bass speaker. A tweeter bouncing sound around in the upper level of the truck will be much clearer than the little embedded tweeters directing sound to your knees. Trust me. This combination was awesome in my 2016. I only had the Kickers in the doors for 2 weeks with the stock tweeters in the dash. I thought I would take a chance with the Subaru Kicker tweeters. It absolutely paid off. That truck had great bass and crystal clear highs from the tweeters. My 2012 right speakers were both blown when I bought the truck so I replaced the 6x9 with one removed from my 2016. I immediately noticed better sound from the driver side that still had both speakers working. I initially thought I would try to buy new Toyota tweeter replacements. Then I saw the 6x9 Kickers roughly 1/2 price at BestBuy. I then decided to go with what my ears already tested as a quality set of tweeters to compliment those 6x9 kickers. I am old and retired. So my jams are like Soundgarden, Audioslave, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Alice in Chains, Green Day and some mild stuff like Stevie Ray Vaughn. These may be a little lame for others but my junk jammed and thumped with this setup. The 1st song I will try is a little diddy called "Bullet to the Head" and that will determine how soon I need (a) a new HU or (b) a sub and amp.
Sorry I did not answer the question about 6.5 subs in the rear doors. NO. You are better off with one 8 or 10 sub in a good enclosure. Subs in doors make rattle traps. For the access cab just put a sub between the 2 rear seatbacks or against the back of the console.

Added a box to the truck! Time to replace old wire with new. Came with light bar and interior pod light.

I misread that you needed to replace your wife (not wire) so my first thought was to bait the box with a Starbucks Latte and a GLAMOUR magazine. Sorry about that. Nice box. A friend had one very similar for his competition fox dogs years ago.

Just busted some rust on the frame. Busted off the rough stuff and then used some rush inhibitor on it. After that, some flat black rattle can paint. Not pretty but something to stop the corrosion.

I'm not sure what brand they are, something nice though. Quality improved sure, but volume didn't. Sometimes podcasts I listen to have such a low master volume, driving with a window cracked on the freeway, gotta have it maxed. I'd like to not have to do that
