You'll want to land the frame supports for the skid around the blue marking, and the front/top attachment by the yellow. That forces the angle you need on the front skid.

Try not to block too much of the rad with skid plate, as it will have a noticeable effect on AC and engine temp.

Ummmmm explain how it'll affect cooling since the air comes through the front and then still has exits. A more noticeable affect is radiators being packed full of dust and dirt more so than a skid messing with it

I mocked this 2x2” tube in place yesterday. It drops down perfect to keep everything tight. Thinking I’ll gusset the mounting tabs. Might be too narrow to protect the LCA tabs, but I plan on gussetting them to protect from hits. Skids really don’t go far enough over to protect them without losing clearance anyways.

If you're gonna use those mounts I'd add some support to then they're pretty weak sauce.

No doubt. They definitely need some support. Easier on my brain to work around what’s already there if it’s moderately symmetrical.

This bumper brought the front skid up about 2" above the frame rails. Blocking the lower 4ish inches of the AC condenser and Rad. Only noticed the effects on hot days, but it was noticeable. The next version I make will use expanded steel grate for the upper portion and add some holes in the front of the lower to allow more airflow.

His skid will be at the bottom of the frame rails below the radiator. How'd you get your skid above the frame rails unless it's a part of the bumper then yes that would kill airflow which you can see from the front of your truck having just a bunch of flat plate blocking everything.

Integrated with the bumper, never managed to touch it on anything but brush. Interestingly the plastic bumper has a similar front surface area, but different aerodynamics (apparently).

A flat skid under the frame would indeed solve the problem.

Yeah that was your problem you really inhibited air flow.

Here’s what I came up with. Before I weld it up and all that, does anyone see anything I might be missing? This is about as high clearance as I can come up with

Under the body mount back to the crossmember? Just on the underside?

The sides underside wouldn't hurt either but the side is best. You'll get better strength from it add some rigidity and help with some of that ridiculous frame flex the tacos have.

Might need to wait until the UCA gussets get tacked on so I can run it back to meet it. Any pictures anywhere to reference?
