To all my fellow joying unit ownwers:

would you please share with me the “car model” that you currently have on your units?

    Under settings
    ED474585-79F3-40EB-8339-640D8202C373.jpg

    then factory
    149F539B-6694-4076-A6AE-8EB5C10C37D2.jpg
    Then car model
    C3AD835B-3FB3-4FA4-81FF-1D73074D883E.jpg

And finally, the screen that I need help with…

would any of you share what options you have selected on this screen??
    159A7F6A-DD3C-48BE-91BC-08EDEB198462.jpg

i messed with this trying to make my Drls work and now an “ac” screen to control acá shows on the screen and it is really annoying.

changing this settings messes also with car “customization” settings like turning on DLRs.

hopefully if I get this screen to work ok, I will solve the original issue that I had that it was the drls not working.

    thanks!!

My Dasaita's uses the Rav4, IIRC.
    But this isn't a Dasaita..

@5nahalf might be able to help you.
He's been running the Joying for a minute.

I don't recall anyone, Joying or Dasaita having issues with the DRL's.

what can I tell you…actually, when I changed the car model thing, my drls worked… so I am sure is the way the car model is set up…

unfortunately I do not know which combination is the correct one…

Did they ever fix the temp display? ha, I might have to try this again since it's an updated model. Do you still have to add an XM tuner and get the antenna adapter?

So I've owned this head unit for maybe 6 months now, maybe a bit longer, and I just cannot recommend it. The touch display is really terrible, and I have a hell of a time trying to scroll through anything. You try and scroll through a list and it just randomly clicks on something. It does this every single time. My head unit crashes maybe once a week and then has to reboot itself. I've tried a bunch of different UI's/launchers and have yet to find one that is nice. It's just a laggy crappy experience since it's not smooth, and you can't scroll worth a damn. I think using a tablet would be amazing as they are smooth and responsive, but I don't want to lose out on the backup camera or steering wheel controls. Sigh...

Man, I only use my unit for CarPlay… I just do music, maps and use Siri as secretary to make calls and send texts while I am driving…

I have had a pleasant experience with mine.. you might have gotten a bad unit…

For the price, it looks oem and it serves me well..

    I do recommend it…

So I decided to try this unit again since it was Android 10 now instead of 8. Initial install was straight forward but ran into the issue of neither camera working and no steering wheel controls. After some fiddling/troubleshooting, I found that if I disconnected my front camera module I get steering wheel controls and my OEM backup camera working just fine. I have the Germes Lab/Car Solutions front camera kit. Has anyone gotten this to work with the Joying?

Been reading through this thread. Maybe I'm think or just having a brain fart, but what is "DLR"? Do they perhaps mean DRL (Daytime Running Light)?

    Try xp/toyota/camry/xp

That being said... I havent succeeded in getting mine to work yet. Just got the 10.1" and plugged it all in, everything works but the audio, not even beeps when you click on things. I verified the head unit has output so its the interface harness with canbus. Can any of you guys verify what is the correct can us harness for a 2018 sith JBL system?

    Many thanks!!

I was having these issues too. But I recently updated it and it’s been a lot more responsive.

Did they put out a new update recently?

My issue is mainly with pinch to zoom. If you pinch to zoom on any android phone or tablet, or any iphone or ipad, it's smooth. If you try and pinch to zoom on this thing it just stutters around and is just a horrible experience. I think it has to do with the type of touchscreen display they used and not something that can be fixed by updates.

I emailed them because my google maps wasnt loading right.

It could fix that, you might also need to recalibrate your screen in the settings too.

Joying told me that the Germes Lab kit won't work with this unit. The Anytime Camera kit does though. But I returned mine before getting that far. I had everything setup and then the unit reset itself after I ran some errands to Home Depot, ha. So I returned it again.

My anytime camera kit does not work with this Joying unit. It'll switch on the backup camera, but I've not been able to get my front one working
