I don't dislike copper, gold, or bronze. My wheels are bronze actually



I really appreciate them more on my LC, even though they don't fit.

 

Stock transmission cooler to the side there?

Damn LC's are overbuilt.

 

Yes sir just a little under half the size of the radiator width wise and thicker than just about any other trans cooler you'll find normally available

 

Another check in the Land Cruiser column.
I was looking at the one @Kwikvette put on and the Hayden coolers too. Lotsa different models to choose from there though.

 

The way 1st gens cool their trans I still don’t understand why a beefy transmission cooler wasn’t standard. I

One note I’ll make is 4Runners technically have more room for a trans cooler due to their AC lines being different.

 

nothing better to accent a strong base color, why I love them. Those definitely look great on the LC, look into set at later date maybe?

 

Hm, so our neighbor put up a backyard gazebo tent and somehow managed to lower the power line that connects to our roof to just over 6' from the ground. Nearly walked right into it.



Yes it's laying across the roof of the tent as well lol. Connects to a city power pole in the alley behind their house

 

More trouble in paradise when I got home from the dealer to pick up a tube of Red FIPG. The key lock on the Tacoma won't turn past the accessory setting to remove the key. I had to disconnect the battery when I got out. I tried a few things but am lost. I am very careful about not putting stress on the key when I turn it because of something like this happening.

The dealer was a pitiful sight. They had 4 new cars. One Tundra and three nondescript SUVs. Then they had a small number of domestic SUVs and trucks. The place looked deserted.

 

I've thought about switching them, but I'd have to take the bronze ones to the machine shop and see if they'll let me hop on a lathe and bore em all the way through, they probably would.

 

Looks like some type of code violation to me.

 

Is your's an auto? There's a way to unplug the key locking thing when it breaks.

It's been hanging low for awhile but Id have to jump to reach it before, today just noticed its nearly 6' off the ground. Dunno what they did to make it lower. I need to find a way to hang it over a branch so at least it's higher up again until we can get someone to hang it again properly. Has way too much slack coming off the power pole

 

When you take off the trim around the key hole there is a plug on the key cyl and it has 4 wires on an auto, two of them actuate the locking solenoid that holds the key in... but most likely it isn't broken and your trans gear selector switch is mis adjusted or broken

 

Call em right away, don't touch that shit, it likely isn't insulated. They'll get on it immediately, its a safety hazard.

 

Just unplug it?

 

Yeah, I'm fairly sure you can unpin it, all four are in a single connector, my memory says its the front most two pins. But you can probably unplug the whole connector, the other two pins just activate the dinger to let you know you left your key in.

Meanwhile, on the trans pan front, I dropped it off to get a plug welded in. In looking at the pan angle and shape, the drain plug doesn't let much fluid out. However, the dipstick tube has better reach into the deeper part of the pan. I'll be using an extractor pump with a tube from now on. Trying to drain using the plug doesn't accomplish much.
