6x9s - what to do what to do

I'm really thinking of swapping my door speakers, and once again, I'm in analysis paralysis.

Part of me wants to get frogs, part of me wants to get something else...

Taking suggestions. The drivers will be bandpass crossed between 80-500hz. Powered by JL VX1000/5.

 

The Karma has the lowest sensitivity rating. Even though you have plenty of power, i would leave them out just for that

 

You know, I thought the same thing - but on the spec sheet, it's not listed as "sensitivity" it's listed as "Sound Pressure Level/1m/1w" 88dB - so I'm not entirely sure if that's a sensitivity rating or not.



I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure any of it is worth my time. However - Pink noise on the Morels right now on the REW showed me this:

yeah, Hard to say if there will be a noticeable improvement either way.

CDT (red) vs AF GS690 (blue) vs Morel Tempo Ultra (purple)





Cone displacement on all of these are very similar at 70 watts.




The AudioFrog looks good....

 

yep the AF do do a little better. I know Mr Marv speaks highly of them

 

Yeah, that's another check in the yes box for AF there....
