    Can anyone confirm what the three BD switch wires do that come with their harnesses? I’m trying to wire a set of S1’s to an oem FJ fog (6 pin) switch.

    I believe it’s:
    Red - 12v feed
    Black - ground
    White - 12v out to lights

    Thanks!

    Pic of the relay bottom showing the wire colors would help...

    Pics and/or part numbers would help. They have multiple harnesses and switches they use.

    My BD 4 pin relay goes like this:
    86 - ground from the battery and switch
    85 - white to switch
    87 - red out to lights
    30 - red from battery and switch

    I believe I figured it out now after searching multiple diagrams. I finally found this. It shows a blue instead of white but I believe it’s the same. I figured I’d tie the grounds together just to simplify things.

    Relay - 5 = 87
    3 = 30
    2 = 85
    1 = 86

    Indicator LED (switch #5) is to let you know juice is getting to accessory (lights) it uses small gauge wire. [20 awg].
    The relay you have is always "hot" so remember to turn OFF switch. Unless you change the power source of input to pin 86 on relay or not use the power input of the added harness (red wire) and select a fuse ign source to send from switch to relay. The pic you posted is for LS which does not have 6 pins, only 5.

    Awesome, thank you for the help. I will not be changing anything as I’m leaving the BD harness intact. I’m simply using the FJ switch for the oem look and to be able to see if they’re on as they are hot all the time. If I’m understanding it right I’ll be option A on your diagram?

    Yes, option A.
    Red wire from relay through harness might be an issue.
    Would love to see the relay wires at the pin side.

    It’s already mounted in my engine bay and it has their heat shrink over it. Are you saying it’s a potential problem? I’m hoping they wouldn’t sell something if it was.
    Also, the factory harness has resistors on the red/green. Do I keep them or ditch em?

    I don't know without viewing it. The resistor looks like a diode. Leave it there.

    For anyone who stumbles upon this and needs the final info. Here’s the wiring breakdown from the BD switch to a 6 pin FJ fog switch.

    *BD red (switch +) - FJ green/red #4
    *BD white (switch out) - FJ red/green #3 and red/blue #6
    *BD black (switch -) - FJ black #5
    *FJ purple #1 is illum +
    *FJ brown #2 is illum -

    They came out sick, and should serve as great work lights. I opted to mount within the bed to ease theft, as my bed does lock.

    Please elaborate. I used the relay and harness exactly how it came wired from BD. The only change was not using their three wire switch but the FJ switch instead. I ended up using this diagram for the switch and it functions exactly how it should. I’m not sure how it can be “wrong”.

    Like I wrote, the FJ switch is wired incorrectly, but it works for ya.
    upload_2021-7-27_16-23-4.jpg

    You do have a choice, re-wire the relay like shown in post #13 or ignore it.
    The indicator lamp in the FJ switch is meant to show that the relay is functional, as in if it fails or the fuse does, the indicator lamp will let you know by not illuminating.:burp:

    P.S. the switch you are referencing with the wiring is also the incorrect FJ Switch picture. The FJ switch shown there has 5 pins not 6.

    whoever did that drawing goofed and still hasn't fix it.

    Your picture also doesn’t match my oem FJ harness though either. It shows #6 as a ground and it wasn’t on my harness, #5 was. To my understanding my indictor lamp shouldn’t light the way I have it either if the fuse or relay fails. I also don’t understand how the FJ switch is any different than the BD switch wiring wise. I tried multiple ways and this is what worked. I’m pretty sure BD doesn’t design their harnesses with the idea that folks will need to rewire their relays.

    It's exactly drawn as you wrote it.
    "*BD white (switch out) - FJ red/green #3 and red/blue #6"
    BD does not. One who'd need to add the FJ correctly should, if they want it as it is in an FJ.
    It's my suggestion to get it done correctly. Again, it works for you.

    You misunderstood. The FJ harness #6 is not a ground like you show it to be. I’m using the exact same wires that BD does to power their switch/illumination and also to feed the lights. I’m not understanding how that translates to needing to change the relay wiring if it’s wired the same way.
    I’m sorry but what you’re saying doesn’t make sense at all (to me). If the fuse or relay fails, my switch shouldn’t work. Just like theirs wouldn’t have either. No?
