I bought the Offroad for the locker.. never used it.. i could have gone with sr5. But I'm glad I got the offriad since it has a nicer interior darker seat fabric and better radio. Every time I drive it I'm glad I chose the OR over the sr5 I was looking at

Are you sure you can't get those same options on the SR5? The radio in my 2020 OR is the same as the radio in my 2016 SR5. The different seat covers I think same standard on the OR. I'm not 100% sure though. In any case, I don't personally think an upgraded radio and seat covers are worth $2-3k.

I went SR5. I Got a great deal on my Truck as the newer next year models were just coming out. I saved a lot of money and put it into mods. My truck now is more capable than any TRd off-road, or Pro for that matter that drives off the lot.

Downside to the OR you can't get the 2.7. I don't know what the cilantro metter is, first time I've heard of it. You probably don't need it. If you can get a new TRD Pro, OTD for 48,000 get the Pro.

Off-Road model has, as many said, the push button Locking Diff - only works in 4Lo and when you put it on you see the dash light up as the the VSC (vehicle stability control) engine management goes off (throttle ramp down) , ABS off causing firing on wheel slip along with traction control (TRAC) rear off. You get a separate button to turn traction control (A-Trac) for the front only back on. What's this do for you is allows you to get up steep rock faces or sandy/muddy hills without the Tacoma throttle ramping down or the ABS firing to slow spinning wheels. Good on slippery boat ramps and also helps in snow if stuck on steep hills, but again you would have to stop and go into 4Lo first. The Tacoma is a part-time 4x4 system as no autotrac/auto position on the selector (adds a differential in the transfer case) like you can get on a 4Runner. You run a Tacoma for long on a dry street in 4Hi or 4LO and parts will fail.

If I’m being totally honest. I bought the Off Road because of the black fender flares.

For me, yes. The rear locker and Crawl Control are great.

I do want the Sport hood since I sit so high in the truck and that is where I would put a led light bar.
