Hand break replacement handle.

Pretty sure it's like a mtn bike grip...

 

I don’t think a hair dryer is going to cut it. I bet it needs more heat. Just my uneducated opinion

I feel like that might be it. Ill look into getting a real heat gun later in the week. Ill keep this thread updated.

 

heat gun + shove a stiff wire into the space between the handle and the metal part. If it comes out with adhesive on it, then at least you know what you are working with. If it is epoxied then more heat and use the compressed air method.

 

Iike it, ill update as soon as i get the heatgun.

 

At this point it appears to be the only remaining option

 

I'm curious to see how this goes. Cool upgrade if you don't have to cut it off and the heat gun works.

I alway replace the shift knob and ebrake handle on all my BMWs. I already replaced the shift knob with the titanium knob made by Rick. Next up is the ebrake.

OP. Have you tried to twist and pull hard at the same time?

 

Maybe we have figured out @7r41lbr34k3r new product offering? I would absolutely make the effort to replace my e-brake to match my shifter from him. A simple rounded matching one would rock. A rectangular one with finger groves like a pistol grip with be insane cool.

 

I've actually been talking with @douglas_ngo about this for a little while now. It is on the table, BUT ... my life is absolutely insane right now. I am about 85% sure I will need to relocate my entire operation within the next few mos.

I tried to get Rick (7r41lbr34k3r) to make a hand brake to match his shift knob. If we can figured out on how to properly remove the stock hand brake first. Here's a picture on his shift knob.

 

I havent forgotten you guys i just havent gotten a heat gun yet.

 

I would take a razor blade knife to it and then clean the glue residue off .

 

I have a billet aluminum e brake handle I would like to install instead of the plastic OEM one...only if I knew what is holding down the factory one...

 

I have that same one on my 2015 wrx, it wasn't bad to take off. You just heat it up a little bit just make sure the heat gun is far enough from it to not melt anything. They I just pulled it off.

 

I have had the TRD carbon handle for a month now. My truck is 2021. I have been looking for info on removing the old handle. Waiting on someone else to install theirs. LOL
