I ran my ADD wires through the passenger side firewall. I believe there is a small grommet there near the ABS unit. It's been a while since I did my swap so I dont remember exactly.

New driveshaft is doing fine except when I’m pushing 4K rpm, doesn’t matter if it’s low speed or high speed, just high rpm. I get this weird hesitation, like the power stops then goes in one second intervals. What’s that a symptom of?

Interesting, didn’t think about that. Trans has about 60K on it tho. Any good tests I can do to confirm?

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Not a single issue, pulled it at 116k working like a dream. Comes with torque converter that came with the 450F(60k)

Did some more tests today. Went through the rpm range of 3-5K. Got it up to 93mph, allegedly, and no issues. Weird, maybe it was all in my head the other day idk

Got everything bolted up, fluids changed in diffs, T-case, and transmission. Got my driveshaft today from Tom woods. Slapped it on pumped to go for a drive and I have no reverse…. Ideas? Seems to shift gears fine. Transmission was used with 70k miles in “great condition “ when I bought it.

Auto or manual? Could be something as simple as a broken shift fork or an idler gear may be bad.

Sorry I just saw your post here. Not sure how to confirm other than maybe pull the inspection port and look to see how worn the clutch is. If you have a leaking RMS it may be contributing to an early clutch life. At least that's what happened on my 7tree.

Auto trans. Putting it in reverse feels like neutral.

edit** looks like when I’m in neutral it’s acting like I’m in drive. Shifter linkage adjustment?? I’ve searched before but couldn’t find any write ups on adjusting that.

You need to adjust the tension of the shift cable. You can do it right at the base of the shifter.

so I did everything myself first time around, but the trans I bought had a BAD shaft seal leak. Took it to a trans shop and they suggested a full rebuild. I swapped the trans out via the parts yard warranty and brought it to the trans shop and they swapped in the new trans/ trase etc with a new labor warranty.

Pic of original 750F trans after I drove it 2 miles to the shop. Replacement trans hasn’t dropped a drop.

tape the ends to the end of a screwdriver. Push from the engine side and boom, they’ve got their own hole in the grommet. :notsure:

I drilled another 1" hole next to the factory one that allowed room for expansion. Not sure why'd you go to the driver side though. I'd be routing them passenger since the ADD is over on that side where there is already a spare grommet, which leads right into the glovebox area.

Do all years of Prerunner come prewired for 4WD? I’m new to this sight.

Not sure what you mean. The dash on prerunners are the same, meaning you can hook up wires to it to activate the 4lo/4hi/locker lights. The prerunners do not have a 4wd ECU which is why you either have to wire up your own ADD switch (see my first post) or do the ADD delete when you convert to 4wd

if by prewired, you mean the factory wire looms and harnesses are available that all you would be to add is the mechanical parts, trans/tcasee/diff and everything plugs in, no. It is not.
