Good morning, everyone!! Good thoughts being lifted up for Tom's wife and for Annie...and for whoever else I may have missed.

Rained off and on here al day yesterday. The rest of the time it was foggy and overcast. Lynn is driving our twin granddaughters home today so we'll be back to the normal routine around the house for awhile.

    Be safe out there!

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Peoples! Still got stuff to finish from the list, mostly greenhouse and plant related. Did get a lot done though. How about some gas grill mods? Sure, why not!

Had two issues I wanted to address.
    1. I wanted to change out the grease cup from the stupid swingy cup that spills it all over the tank below it every time I roll it 1 foot out to use it.
    2. I wanted to get the tank out from under the grease spills, so that I can actually turn the gas off between use.

Swingy cup. Yep, I have a spare. (Now I have two!)

Modified to hold the same disposable drip pan I use for the Masterbuilt Gravity. Disposable!

Rounded up some 2x4 and 1x4 scrap, and made a base for the tank. Got a new extension hose with a gauge from Amazon. Now, I can reach the cutoff.

I did other equally ridiculous stuff too. Maybe, more on that kind of thing later! Have a great First Friday!

Looks like where there's a will there's a way Kurt, looks like some pretty simple solutions for something that should have maybe been thought out better in the first place!

DIL bought "kits" from Amazon last year and this year and they watched a dozen or so butterfly's "hatch" from their cocoon. then the boys got to name them and take them outside to their butterfly bush.

Thanks Ken. Happy you are doing so well with your recovery. Be careful with your demo'ing. Tears will flow for days when she goes - I've have her for 15 years and 4 months - got her when she was 3 months old and a little terror she was.... She'd destroy a stuffed toy to get the squeeker within 5 minutes. Was funny to watch her and Ollie in the back yard - they would chase each other for hours. First Annie chasing Ollie and then Ollie chasing Annie. Then they'd both chase the ball. I had to hit one for Annie first or she'd steal Ollie's. Once she leaves me, she'll be back with her old buddy chasing each other around the rainbow bridge. Plus she hated coming in, she always wanted to be outside - she used to be so nosey, she had to see what was going on in the neighborhood. Now she's content to lay around in the house if I'm in here or outside with me.

Hope the leak is on their side of your meter.

Not any more. That muck has to go until I get to the leak on OUR side of the meters. It WAS being blamed on the neighbors until my wife had the city dig it out. There isn't a plumber for weeks, and given that the water is currently shut off, I will be the plumber du jour.

Good morning everyone! We finally had a day without rain - and a light wind plus heat helped dry things a bit. Still, everything is soaked and the grass needs to be cut. Not sure I can get it all done without drowning at this point. I need a hovercraft mower.

I hope the plumbing work is easy, Kurt!

Annie had the best Mom around taking care of her and raising her from a pup. The memories will be with you forever. Shedding some tears when she is gone is okay and crying with the loss of a loved one is a sign of love. The pups have a way of getting into your heart for sure. Take care.

OK, let me remind you, I hate plumbing.

Yes, our side of the meter. Other one is neighbor. Where the leak supposedly was; which should have been on the city's report from all the calls, and servicemen coming out to look. But it's been a slow leak a long time, and wife kept complaining to the city that the neighbor wouldn't fix it, like picking at a scab. So city came out and made it a mess, then proclaimed it was our baby. They dug back under the bush on the end, until they loosened all the roots covering the leak. On our side. Thanks dear! Oh, not enough of a mess? We got 3/4" rain right after this.

I always wanted a winch for something. Might as well pull this bush on the end. 2/3 of it were lost to the freeze, and the pipe I have to fix is under it.

And there it is, the lumpy, muddy thing in the middle. We used the shop vac to remove the water, and started to expose the pipe to work on it.

But, my wife redeems herself by staying on the phone and actually reaches a plumber, who will come over NOW, and fix it the right way. She's my super hero again. Let's hear it for Rick's Plumbing!

Filling the hole with sand when it dries out will be my pleasure. I hate plumbing! Rick and Junior are efficient, and soon, Carol is writing a check. I am thrilled, to say the least. And I learn that the pipe (formerly) connected to the main, has an anchor that goes from here to China, which I would STILL be cussing about, having no idea what was impeding my progress. Why? That's what they used to do!

    20210720_104504.jpg
    20210720_113545.jpg

Went to get the sand, and make sure I have enough. My inner Roadie can't stand that people don't know how to load stuff.....

Carol called the city, and they came back to set the box, and (eventually) change out the meter. Something about 30 million gallon mark has worn the gears down.....geez - they had more muck left than I thought.

Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream (bung, bung, bung, bung)....oops, wrong reality.

    Finally, the Serv-pro touch.

And, THAT'S, the way it is!

    Good morning everyone!!

Glad to see your wife found a plumber, Kurt!! I always love your photojournalist's approach to projects. I'm a before and after photographer...and I usually forget the before picture.

Headed off to the dealership early this morning for the 18 month service on the truck. It's just under 10k miles now. I should have enough time for a cup of coffee and a donut at the dealership on this one.

More rain today, probably. The grass needs to be cut badly but it's still too wet. Hoping for Thursday or Friday to cut it.

    Stay safe!!

Heading into work for the "starting of the end" . Retirement party with the guys in my shop at the Airport. 31 plus years working at The Ohio State University Airport is coming to it's planned end with the passing of the 30th of July. Some of the guys are off on vacay next week so we are getting together early. My wife is having a party at our house on the real last day next Friday.

My long range plans put in place 30 years ago are coming REAL,

First of August I will be at home or wherever I want, House paid, Cars and trucks all paid, 4 bikes all paid... time for fun.
