Nonetheless, I have yet to personally see or hear of a MT owner go from KDMax/KDMax XT over to Coyoza and then return to KD. Keep in mind too that we are specifically discussing the MT tune, since you're an AT owner. This discussion does not concern the AT side, Coyoza stopped doing AT tunes awhile back. I am well aware of the success of other tunes offered for the AT's and 100% support it.

For KD for the MT, the trend seems to be initial happiness due to difference from stock along with probable euphoria over aggressive throttle settings followed by disappointment due to a flatter 1st and 2nd gear and all around less power availability down low as the drivers encounter more and more normal driving scenarios.

But as you say, the community driving improvement, competition, and encouragement is huge benefit for everyone and it will continue to grow and become even better over time.

Trends are not things that 'seem like'...in fact all my customers disagree. We are in discord but that's okay
Like you I to have yet to personally see or hear of any MT owner going from KDMAX XT to any other tune, they have no reason to change after months of driving. I am going to start collecting their testimonials after the honeymoon period and put those on my site. There's not better way to show how well a product works for someone and the professional services behind it when they freely provide constructive statements on their own real-world use. It avoids anyone using works like "probable" and "seems like" and let's potential buyers in on true experiences of others. Thank you for this great idea so I an to personally contact all my MT owners for some real statistics!

Well if you're going to do that, you may as well go after people who have been on multiple tunes for the MT. Get the ones that have been on KD, Coyoza, Valley Runner, etc.

Anyone who has only driven on only one user-edited tune after stock is going to be biased because that's all they know.

Regarding statistics, it's hard to quantify "feelings". By the nature of this whole venture, your statistics will be based off of people saying "probable" and "seems like" and stating their personal experiences, even if they state them in the factual manner, such as "1st gear is unquestionably stronger with x - tune." It's still their unquantifiable (on paper) experience

If you read the comments in this thread from people who have tried KD and gone to Coyoza for example, you will have heard of more than one MT owner go from KDMax XT to any other tune.

In addition, the M/T Tacoma Owners group on Facebook has several.

I'm like a damn broken record over here. i was on KD XT and was unsatisfied, and I've said why over & over. the pre-XT tune was ultra smooth but flat, and the XT tune lost much of the smoothness KD is known for, and was still flat especially in first & second. this is a MT tune and that's it's calling, so nobody is sure what you're on about. i found Coyoza and took the leap on @Shellshock 's suggestion and never went back. it's so so much better over here now. i would be happy to have this tune for the life of my truck

My original point was in post https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/coyoza-tune-development-and-feedback.719707/page-4#post-25993110 which I thought was pretty clear in that what was stated is not the feedback I am receiving from KDMAX XT owners that I have tuned, recently or otherwise. I just thought it fair perspective to not knock down a competitive offering with more perspective. I have driven the the tuned MT's and just don't share the same concerns or issues and I like the idea of getting testimonies of my customers after they settle in.

    The tune is still available.

Please reach out to the Coyoza_Tuning Facebook page or to Chan Chan directly and send a message to get in touch with Coyoza/Chan to either acquire the tune file or to be linked up with someone to tune you. I believe the CVC network does have people in SoCal.

these last posts are some of the "more perspective" you refer to, so again, I'm not sure what you're on about.

you are an AT owner, so you haven't had any kind of sufficient seat time to assess anything driveability regarding the MT trucks, and don't bother trying to convince otherwise as nobody here gives that credibility. we've been round & round with specific driveability issues for years, just not shift-related like you guys.

every couple months or whatever there's an AT driver who elbows his way into a MT discussion on TW and looks somewhat foolish. you are not preaching to your own choir over here.

i hear your point, but those of us who have real seat time with both are clear that you are not experienced with the difference as a MT driver.

on a personal note, Kreg gave me terrific customer service, and i have appreciated him for that as well as his tune. i got the same from Marc and have appreciated his work more as you'd expect from reading my impressions.

    I understood/understand your point.

I also fully understand that you are making statements based off of feedback from your own customers.

However, no one here has knocked down a competitor's tune without perspective, because the reviews and statements here are full of perspective from people who have KD on their truck now, or have personal experience on more than one tune for their truck. My own perspective is based on observation of those experiences, review of their feedback.

I am not discounting your own experiences and observations. But when you say that you have driven the tuned MT's, I will ask if you have daily driven them for hundreds of miles. Because little discrepancies or quirks and behaviors of these trucks and tunes are not always immediately apparent.

You said it yourself when you mentioned honeymoon phases. They exist. I'm not being condescending, I promise you this, when I ask if you yourself were in a honeymoon phase while test driving your customers newly tuned trucks? I believe you have an AT, no? Do you drive a manual often enough to narrow down what it should feel like on a consistent basis, and what areas may need to be addressed?

Edit: I really am not coming across as condescending as I truly no longer have any meaningful dog in this fight, so to speak. I am obviously proud of what I accomplished, I stand by it confidently, but it is truly out of my hands and no longer a product that I control in any way. You're speaking to someone who is little better than a customer with personal experience on the tune at this point, so please do not assume that I am talking down to you with my above comments.

I trust and value my on-going customer feedback who do in fact have the miles logged. I feel their feedback is being discounted in this thread because 'I' own an AT. So, I will continue to reach out to every one of my MT & AT customers to collect their testimonies and ensure that if KDMAX XT is lacking based on all their responses that we work to offer a better tune option for them. That's what competition is for, to make our tunes all better. Your personal and professional opinions are not wrong, I just have others that do not share the same sentiment and again based on the post I originally replied to I felt it was reasonable to offer that perspective.

we are comparing the two tunes, man! you are simply saying your people say one is good, but they are not comparing... unless I'm just missing it. we don't care for a one sided sales pitch over here, many of us have experience with both and many others.

I truly value all your comments. One thing I have learned is to accept other perspectives and differences. Our experience and opinions certainly can lead to no one being wrong or no one even being right at times. I appreciate all you have done on TW and hopefully continue to do in other ways going forward. You've encourage me to seek out any deficiencies with KDMAX XT and work within our group and the current owners to ensure we have a competitive option. I'll let ya know what comes out of it

Just to confirm, will Coyoza run fine on 87 octane?

    Yes.

The maps are octane learning and based off of OVT 2.0 SFOB Reg.

I am so excited cvc and coyoza have paired up. I'm currently running the ov superFOB reg tune on my 21' MT and am getting the coyoza tune done next weekend by Chan Chan. Can't wait to see the difference

Got the Coyoza tune from @chanvchau last Sunday, and in 1st gear between 1-4k rpms, it's like a restrictor plate has been removed, or like I had been towing a trailer of cinder blocks previously.

Before it would struggle to accelerate and take ~3-4 seconds to get up to 4k where the power is, and now it takes ~1-2 seconds to get up to 4k. It accelerates like a normal car now. I have to watch the throttle or I can break traction.

Hey all. I’m very interested in this tune but I have no idea of how to do it myself. So I guess what I’m asking is there anyone near southern Ohio that could do it for me.
