Removing visor warning sticker

How about sticking the new black stickers over the glued areas after you've exhausted all options?

 

Keep them! You have highly specialized peice of off-road machinary. Makes it look offical lol

Stickers are not going to be as nice as the bare fabric.

I read too many posts of "Ive used goof off, alcohol, etc and I still have residue...help!" for my liking. Plus when I switched out stock TRD OR sticker to a different color the decal, despite brand new truck, left a TON of residue (Used hair dryer, yep, not the clean removal that can happen). Took many, many coats and "layers" of goof off to eventually remove. Can't imagine on cloth...

 

It isn't too bad. My goal was to get rid of them from my line of sight, so a sticker / decal would not work for me.

I do have a bit of residue left, but someone recently posted about using an old cotton shirt and an iron to lift off the rest. I have seen some examples where there was no visible residue. Someone was even able to get the card holder off with no residue. I had no luck even starting to try and thankfully, I don't notice it.

For truth, this is my current situation:

I recently realized that my whole deal is because I was riding motorcycles for the 10+ years before the Taco. That unfettered view forward. So, these stupid things on the Taco go the best of me.

 

Easiest way is heat gun and tweezer or needle nose. Minimal residue left. I made the mistake of peeling them off without heat. I used small amounts of goo gone on a clean rag and an iron. Followed this with a bit of dawn to remove the goo gone oil and smell. They came out great with no trace of decal or residue.

 

2nd Gen here but checked this thread out before debadging some time ago.

How it went for me was a luxurious steam bath to begin to remove the labels. First two easy-peasy then third one was a bastard crusty dried out label with too much glue or something. Used goo gone to remove the glue residue as much as possible and dish soap and water to try to remove the goo gone. Some slightly oily looking spots remain (not really noticeable in the truck) but looks so much better now.

Took about a month and the goo gone dried fully and oily spots aren't visible anymore. Second pic was after initial removal it looks very cleanly debadged now.

 

Received in timely manner (w/ tracking #) and installed. There is little room for error on decals' size...but w/out too much effort they are forgivable in that you can gently pull up and adjust. I ordered the matt black w/ matt gray "TRD" logo to place on top. Suddenly the top of the cab doesn't look like luggage tags or escalator warnings....

 

I have used goof-off on stuff and man that stuff smells awful and takes forever to go away.


Would using duct tape help at all to get rid of the residue, like the way you use tape to get lint off clothes?
