Okay. Quoting you correctly: "But with only 400 pounds in the back (of the 1,200-pound payload!), I hit the bump stops driving over a speedbump at under 5 mph."
I call BS on this unless you weigh 600 pounds yourself.

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.
Forgot the follow-up article by the same guy: I lifted my truck, put it on Grabbers, added sand bags and now I get awful gas mileage!

I'm 225lbs, and had a week's worth of groceries in the back along with the 30lb Softopper. And technically, it was only 380lbs in the bed (4 - 70lb sandbags + 2 - 50lb bags of salt). Believe it or not, it's true. And it seems like others have had similar issues.

MPG did drop a bit, but I'm not disappointed at all. I'll be sure to write an exhaustive article all about it to keep you all entertained though!

I read your article. It was entertaining. But about half way through (suspension description) as some have surmised. Advertisement popped on my head.

I'd gladly trade you my Gen 1 tacoma plus a lot of cash if you wanted a nice 21 year old truck.

I feel you could've achieved what you needed with about $1,000 and gotten the new truck for 3k less. New tires on the stock wheels, rear leaf helper springs and a manual transmission if you truly wanted to stick with the OEM Tacoma set up. But glad you found what works now, Toyota built the truck to suit the average person from a mall crawler to ski bum to basic midsize work truck.

It's an honest review of the product. I did borrow some of the techy info directly from them as they explained their system way better than I could.

I paid quite a bit less than the MSRP listed but wanted to give list price as out-the-door will vary greatly. And this isn't the cheapest way for sure. I splurged a bit! But this is a pretty middle-of-the-road build that is fairly attainable. At least, that was the goal.

Totally agree that it's a super versatile base that can be built in many different ways. That's why I still have the Tacoma!

I have no issues with their products. Really like the suspension feel.
