    Rules of Tacoma ownership:
    1. Never say ANYTHING critical about the Tacoma.
    2. When addressing areas in which the Tacoma is lacking or deficient, spin them so they are always positive; see Rule #1.

You all can dish it out but can't take it.

This thread is a prime example of why people don't engage on this forum. (and I didn't even start this thread!)

Say what you want, but I wrote an article for the general public based on things I didn't like about a truck I bought and ways I fixed them.

I test drove a few different trims and other models entirely. Coming from a Forester, it rode a lot different but nothing notably bad. Over time, the ride quality got on my nerves. The whole point of the article is to offer product solutions for people looking to fix similar issues.

Sorry, I didn't plow thru all the posts.

I do know that 1200 lbs brick, block & mortar in the bed of my 2nd Gen compress the rear springs by 2 inches. Rode 30 miles to a landfill, bounced around on the "landfill road" built by D9 Cats and packed by Garbage Trucks, I never made contact with the bump stops.

Yeah, I know 2nd and 3rd Gens are not the same. I also know it takes the same amount of force to support a 1200 lb load. I believe the claim of contacting bump stops with 400 +/- lbs at 5 mph over a speed bump as not plausible.

Congrats on the feed back of your publication. I'm sure pitch is well received at the publisher with all the hits.

Fuck it man, while I thought the article read like a typical post here or a build thread, lots of panties getting twisted here over nothing.

FYI: Next article mention how you switched to Redline or Amsoil and you'll be good.

It's probably the pain killers for my knee talking, but I'm gonna try and throw an olive branch on this thing

The problem is not necessarily the article, the complaints, or the advertisement whatever. All said, it's probably a fair review that you did. Duddn't matter though. This place has been bombarded with the same rants, reviews, complaints, fixes, rinse & repeat for 5 years now. At this point I'm sure there are very few people who aren't completely exhausted on the topic. It's not beating a dead horse anymore. It's digging up the dead horse every other week to make sure you had a say in the matter and then waiting for the next person to do the same. Again, the article was independent from this place but, as is the nature of the beast, got dragged into the depths to give yet another breath to debate. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta see what's the largest tire I can fit on stock lift.

I realize this will be an unpopular opinion, but a sometimes if you hate the vehicle stock it won't be any better after you dump thousands into it. I don't care if it's a Tacoma or a Miata.

Am I the only Tacoma owner that loves his truck yet doesn’t feel the need to constantly defend it from people who don’t feel the same way…or better yet needs to attack those who point out its flaws?

    Naw….I can’t be…..

what I don't understand is griping about the cost of Fox/Icon suspension price but spending barely less on the IronMan foam cell suspension?

The Big 3 suspension kits cost maybe a couple hundred dollars more lol. Add another few hundred if you want adjusters.

Also, certainly doesn't take poring through this forum for hours to find any of these complaints lol. Maybe 30 minutes max.

    pinstripes. lots of pinstripes.
When did the general public start expecting something that didn't feel like a mid-size truck when buying a mid-size truck?

Also, I feel the article would benefit from a cross-section of the offending speed bump. You know, for science.

I don't know how this truck wasn't a better vehicle in it's stock formation. Aftermarket accessories are cool, and modified Tacomas are great to look at.

I've seen lifted 1st and 2nd gens pulling hay wagons, but never a 3rd gen. The 3rd gen could probably do the job, but those are probably reserved for the trip in town.
