Just picked up the skid plate after getting Line-X'd. Office dog checking it over, making sure it's good enough to put on my truck.

Always need extra storage camping (and i think in the off season i'll figure a way to attach it to the bed rack when the tent is off), so i grabbed this cargo box that was pretty easy to attach to the prinsu


For some upcoming camping with a rented trailer and a likely trailer purchase for next year. Love how easy the Redarc liberty was to install and get a clean finish using their button blank insert and wire harness.

 

She approves - her dad is a total Toyota guy (he talked me into the Tacoma) so he likes seeing all the stuff I'm doing to my truck as he does the same to his Tundra and 4Runner.

 

Pop the hood & both the controls and the clutch are within easy reach.

I had a place in Brainerd Line-X my BPF skid 5 years ago. It took about 4 years before it rusted through in a spot. Fixing that is my next project but I've been pretty lazy lately so it hasn't happened. Looks great though.

 

Yes, if you're out in the sun with black metal or plastic it is going to be absolutely roasting. I went with the Bedrug Tail Gate Mat for that very reason...oh, and its cheaper and easier on the knees...

EDIT - BTW the plastic on the top of the tailgate gets really, really hot in the sun.

 

Or just mention something...and tw will take care of you ...funny times we live in.

Point taken that you’ve got to make the most of your time, don’t delay and all that - but also you’ve gotta prioritize where your resources go, right?

Looks nice! I like how they are lightweight like the SCS F5, but a lot easier to get. Did you go with the 110 Hub Bore?

 

The list price for my UnderCover Flex was $893 but I got a great deal during Amazon Prime days. There is an UnderCover Ultra Flex that is $1009 that had some nice features but I really did not need them and also the BakFlip MX4 that was $989. Between my friend having a Flex for 9 years with no issues and the deal I got on mine it was an easy choice for me.

I agree about losing access to a third of the bed and really wanted to avoid that or having to remove it for the extra space. I also considered a rolling cover but I saw the space that one consumed in another Tacoma and decided against it too. I have opened that third section plenty of times so far and I am glad I’m able to.

 

Thanks Sarge. That’s a great point and makes the whole experience that much sweeter. I got so lucky when I found this truck.
