    good afternoon all!! Missed ya! Was on our family "vacation" to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg for the past 6 days...

    what a bizarre little world down there. My first time going. It was so weird to have all of that god-awful touristy stuff nestled into some of the most awesome natural landscape around...sort of depressing to me.

    The kids are not campers, so on the family vacays, I have to "bite the bullet" and do the traffic jam/souvenir shop/putt putt/ go kart/mass of humanity thing. The whole time we were there I was looking longingly at all of the mountains, and natural wonder wishing I was in it...

    Hope everyone is doing well...man, thoughts and well wishes to the people out west dealing with fires. The smoke has now made it to Columbus OH...last nights sunset was blue/purple/grey haze with a blood red sun, and the smell of fire everywhere...crazy!!

    We had that yesterday after a week of 40% chances...that were dry. It rained like a cow pissing on a flat rock. 3" an hour in some places...and it rained on an off for a good 2 hours.

    Stay on the high ground, and beware of floating Civics.

    Weather lady showed a sat picture this morning that we're getting both Saharan dust and smoke from the fires up there. It's something, for sure.

    Hope something helps alleviate those fires. That sucks.
