Harbor Freight tools thread.

I see absolutely no reason to buy this.... But yet I feel like I need too.

 

Watching Gemini Man again and noticed a few Harbor Freight cameos mixed in with the Craftsman stuff.

 

Is HF still in business? With their stuff almost at same price tag as HD, I've been buying more from HD lately.

 

HD is closer to the house so I've been doing the same. Just picked up a 6pc set of Ryobi tools last night for $199 with 2 batteries since I needed a drill since my B&D one disappeared with my battery. I'm guessing I left it unattended outside and someone relieved me of it... Need to install a camera off the front of the garage....

 

Everybody just thinks it's cheaper, and in some cases it is but, it's just a perception thing. When you start looking other places and comparing the prices you notice there's not always a big difference

 

they’re getting a little cocky with China prices asking American dollars. Some of their stuff is half decent quality but 80% ain’t worth the sweater the kid wore to make the product.

 

Not the same without the 20% off coupon. I wonder how many inside track members they have.

 

I did that, 45$ for two years is pretty reasonable. I’ve caught a few solid sales with it so far. The 20% off still shows up every so often.

 

I think HF has quite a bit of tools you can't get from HD. I don't recall seeing engine hoists, pullers, dial indicator, hydraulic press, at a HD. I could be wrong as I don't typically look for that stuff when I'm in HD.

True. They still have one time use tools for sure. They've been coming up with "new items" that already exists and are comparable even with Amazon's China specials.

Spotted this guy sporting a pretty slick paint job. It’s hard to tell in the first picture but there’s some flake in it, you can tell more in the second one.



Update: it does have the zerk fittings.

 

That jack is the only thing I regret not buying before this price hikes.

 

The jack has treated us well.
They're a go to for me for cheap disposable tools for sure. Anything electrical has mostly been a flop in my experience.

I do resin casting for my business, and their paint pressure pots suck total ass. I got a nice one from Cali Air Tools as well as a 1 gallon quiet air compressor so I can listen for leaks and keep it in my studio. HF just came out with their own quiet air compressor that's basically a rip of the Cali Air Tools design... at a higher price point, lmao.

They definitely have their place though; I absolutely love some of the stuff I've gotten there.

 

Buy it, I got the green one on sale a while back.

 

I signed up to get the discount on their toolbox. That paid for the membership and then some. Not sure id pay for it otherwise. That and my garage is getting too full so I’ll need to put an addition on if I keep buying stuff haha

 

I already have the black one, no grease zerks but it has worked well so far!

 

I think I'll pull the trigger on the Vulcan spool gun before they discontinue the 20% off coupon on all vulcan products.

I bought a $30 OBDII code reader years back and it was absolutely effective in helping to diagnose some problems I had on a 99 Accord and 96 Grand Cherokee. Also have 2x $5 furniture dollys that have come in handy multiple times.
