No FI, yet. I got 150k outta my stock one but a couple things like pulling a semi-truck outta the ditch (DIDNT WORK) and towing above my pay grade (5000lb, 8’5” wide) were having it shake and shudder from time to time.

Basically every time you walk into KRave they offer you a SC, so I think they meant 2 years with a Maggie. I told them I wanted a daily and they said they have even uninstalled URD clutches to swap for the stock one. I wonder now what could have been…

Interesting. When I installed the SC and I dropped to a 2.7 pulley almost immediately because the SC feels a little lacking with the stock pulley. At that point the stock clutch lasted me maybe 15k km before it started slipping in high gears. I did have about 60k on the truck before I installed the SC.

Others have had similar experiences with SC and stock clutches.

They do seem to know their stuff at Krave but they also cater really heavily to the overland crowd vs dumb asses like me.

That's a big upsell to push a SC on people too lol.

Also, the SC is easy enough to DIY for the most part. Just takes a couple days.

I feel embarrassed to go in there now. All the rigs are $$$$. I was all proud buying a little ziplock bag of cam tab gussets for a hundred bucks, meanwhile I walk around back and they are installing 20k in mods on several trucks in the back like it’s just another Tuesday.

I feel ya on that one. I got a quote for a true trac installed and promptly decided to learn how to do it myself rather than pay 2g for install. Phoned around and other places were similar rates to Krave.

The more I think about this the more scammy it sounds. Come back every couple of years for a $2g clutch job, we'll take care of you.

My OEM Aisin clutch lasted 15k after adding the maggy. I would definitely go with something with more holding capacity. Its too much work to be dropping the trans every couple of years

Be honest though, how happy were you to be popping the clutch at 3500 every light? :D

Not very so far lol. I had better take offs on the stock clutch. Need to practice or maybe just giver but it is a violent hook up although maybe I'm trying to slip it too much.

Kind of afraid of breaking a u joint or something else. Maybe have to just try dumping the clutch and letting the tires spin more to take the strain and/or trying the 4wd launch.

In other unrelated news my sister in law has an adorable puppy name Joe Bob. My son got mixed up and called him Bo Job.

And the dog now has a new nickname...

Also, my Asian father in law doesn't know what blow job means (at least in English).

Pretty much exact same for me. Going down the freeway after about that many and ZZZZWEEEE slippage.

A 1990 300ZX! Maybe almost as fun to work on as your old Supra. What year was that one?

Haha well... I could work something out for a discounted rate if we use the bulk discount :D you work in the diamond mines, you can afford it!!

Joking aside we should totally do it. I'll charge you but not actually that much, lol. Note I don't drink beer that often though so you can't pay me in flats.

"If you're good at something, never do it for free." - Abraham Lincoln

Also I don't know if @TodayWasTHeDaY already mentioned, but I'd highly recommend Smoothflow Pulleys for a smaller one. I'm pretty sure he has PulleyBoys too which I think is comparable so it depends what look you're going for really. My friend down here with a supercharged auto runs a Smoothflow 2.8" without a fuel pump upgrade and it runs really well on that size.

OK...Impressed. So many questions??? How long to complete?? Most importantly...Any videos of this monster performing. I just bought my Tacoma and have a list a mile long that I would love to do. Its going to be many moons before I get those done. My issue...$$$. I'm on a fixed income. (Disability) I still do everything I can by myself but just a lil slower. Lol.
