I have the afe high tuck (dump version), sounds great, just slightly louder than stock, zero rasp, deep tone, sort of comparable to the trd exhaust just slightly louder.

I have the Gibson for the last few years. Sounds good doesn’t drone and isn’t raspy like the mbrp. If in the northeast mass way can listen, drive it.

The one that's on it is the most cost efficient, which was your leading criteria.

Always fun to pile on early in the AM. :bananadance:

Give Carven a shot. It sounds sick on my truck. Just buy the TR muffler, have a shop chop the old out and weld in the new. Prob $200 all in

This is the one I am looking at. I heard it in person and sounds really good, not raspy at all.

Sorry.....gotta throw the brown BS flag on this.

Any statistics to prove the claim?

If this were true, then ALL vehicles would have "Loud pipes".

The loud sound is behind the vehicle. Rarely is a vehicle hit from behind to cause a loss of life.

The majority of motorcycle accidents are from the motorcycle being rear ended while sitting at a stop sign or stop light. How does a "Loud pipe" prevent this situation????

had mine for a year and am very happy with it. Im also in my 30's so the 40 series flowmaster was a little too much drone for a daily driver. When i was in my 20's i was fine with the 40 series on other vehicles for a daily.

TRD Pro exhaust, very high quality, nice deep sound. Major improvement over stock. It just refines the stock exhaust into a smooth sound. It takes all that extra noise you hear from the stock system and filters the sound. Its hard to explain but I think its one of the best sounding exhaust systems for the Tacomas. I got the TRD CAI with the Pro exhaust and rin the KDMAX tune and its pretty damn nice. I'm into muscle cars and my latest was a 67 Camaro with a L78 big block and running a Borla exhaust, the sound was amazing.

No drone either. Ride in my built mustang for drone. The ones that complain about the pro exhaust drone have got no clue, it's as simple as that!

Summit sells Borla cat back for $650 I think, or you could replace just the muffler for less than $200

My son's truck has a flowmaster 50 series welded in and for $150 sounds pretty damn good. Deep mellow sound and when under hard acceleration coupled with the TRD CAI and the kdmax tune sounds great. Being on the younger side it fits perfect.

I guess I'm just old school. Performance exhausts belong on V8's. Never heard a V6 or 4 banger that sounded worth a $hit with any type of loud exhaust.

Unless you supercharge, get the right exhaust setup, AND THEN it'll have a nice V8 like sound to it.

Very expensive and well over $400, however. :D

With saying that... OP. Buy your own muffler then take it to a muffler shop. They should charge you $150 at the most unless you get a new tip with it. There is no need to get fancy and buy a new "catback" system unless you just like burning money for fun.
