Remember that guy that tried to murder his wife? Well he paired with the other guy who quit his original deathcore band to pursue hair cutting.

I actually liked Ricky Hoover when he was in Suffokate, but a bit bummed he brought Lambesis on board for a single. Also looks like he traded in the scissors for steroids, so we'll probably see another crime case on TV in the next few years.

yep...I remember scaring my parents with his corpse paint and the Melissa and DBTO album covers...and also remember the music also being awesome. Next level up from Ozzy and Maiden at the time

My cousin had it on vinyl which is the only reason I heard it. Even as a teenager my parents wouldn't have stood for that, they threw out so many of my tapes like Slayer, W.A.S.P., and the like. Strict Catholic....

Short version is he came to live with us after his mother (my aunt on my dad's side) was murdered suddenly and his father wasn't really in his life. They didn't love his music taste but grudgingly allowed it if he used headphones on anything they didn't want 7-8 year old me and my 5-6 year old sister to hear. He was about 14-15 and was pretty cool about letting me sneak in his room to listen but always said if I told my folks I was dead meat hahaha

man...sorry to hear about your aunt...

I remember my dad "banning" all of my rock and metal stuff. He was a jazz drummer around town, and is who got me started drumming. One day in like 82, I was playing the drum solo from YYZ off of Exit...Stage Left when he came home from work early and was like..."what is this?" I thought I was busted, but he made me play more of that album....and became an instant Rush fan...this was the gateway to Maiden, Ozzy, Queensryche, Fates Warning, Armored Saint...

he saw Maiden with me 4 times, Rush 6 times, Queensryche, Metallica (when they were good...86ish), Anthrax...he learned about a whole new world of drumming!!!

Thank you sir, some people just suck. She was walking her dog and crossed the street in Boston, hit and run..don't think they ever caught the person actually, I would have to ask my dad. Sucks, but he was a big influence on my musical taste at an early age plus I looked up to him a lot back then. Sadly we've lost touch, been about 23 years since I heard from him.

Impressive concert list. I've done Maiden 3 times, Ryche about 5, Metallica about 10 (my first real show was 1989, Metallica and the Cult) ,Anthrax a few times. That was when Metallica could still play the cover songs they've done, and a reason I'm a lifelong Glenn Danzig fan. Never saw them with Cliff unfortunately. I was lucky enough twice in more recent years to see Queensryche do the Mindcrime Suite, including 1-2 in full in Boston.

I did get to see Metallica with Cliff....right before the accident...

my first metal show ever was Iron Maiden Piece of Mind tour...I was in 6th grade.

my very first show ever was The Jackson 5 in 1975..or maybe 4

I saw Maiden on every tour from POM to Fear of the Dark, then on Brave New World, and the most recent tour..

saw Rush starting with signals on every tour till R40...I think I have seen Rush more than 100 times for sure

I have a list somewhere of every show I have seen - not including punk house shows b/c there have been sooo many - and I think the list had me at something like 400 shows total since the Jackson 5...

I got to eat dinner with Vinnie Paul, T Rex and some of the Pantera crew on the Cowboys From Hell tour when they were still touring in a beat up old van. That was in 1990 at The Alrosa Villa in C-bus....which was where Dime dies years later. I "grew up" in that place. Interestingly enough, my band was supposed to be one of the opening acts the night Damage Plan played there, but our singer could not get child care, so we turned down the gig...but were still there for the show...that whole era is still so surreal

Damn..I cannot imagine Cliff live. Wow. I was in 10th grade when that show happened, not sure still how I got my parents to let me see them. I did see Sha Na Na at a small place when I was about 8-9 come to think of it.

Off my head I've seen Slayer 30 times..Korn and Rob Zombie 20 or so each..Marilyn Manson about 15-20. Godsmack is my record, well over 100 and hung out/partied with a few times. I was 22 and walked into some dive bar in 1995 with this band in the corner, had no clue what their name was just that they were at a place I drank at. Wrote my name and mailing address on the list and got a letter every few weeks with their upcoming shows, haha. Much as I can bitch about the winter, taxes, and whatnot I can honestly say Boston has always had a good music scene.

Sadly, I never got to Pantera. I've more recently seen Down open for BLS..and on Slayer's last tour I saw Phil open, but he did all Pantera stuff. I did see Vinnie with Hellyeah before he died.

It's scary that you were almost there that night..wow. I was THISCLOSE to seeing Great White in Rhode Island the night of the Station nightclub fire, a coworker of mine died there and a friend of mine lost about a dozen people there. Awful.

Anyone heard the new Fear Factory album yet? I've only heard a couple singles. Sad that this is the last album with Burton on it.

I've seen FF. The thing that got me sad/mad was that they couldn't reproduce their sound on stage. They're a studio band. And a good one.

I loved ShaNaNa!!! I wanted to be Bowser for a small part of my young life!!

sooo true re Boston music scene!! I got beat up at many a Boston band hardcore show back in the 90's!! Lots of the Straight Edge bands back then from Boston are my favs!! Man, such good memories of seeing SSD, Jerry's Kids, Slapshot, Dropkick Murphy's, The F.U.s, In My Eyes, Reach The Sky....

yeah, I was up on one of the side balconies and the shooter actually pushed past me on his way to the stage...it is very weird to have been that close to that event!
