What are you paying for your 2021 Tacoma? (price thread)

Howdy from Cali,
Freeman toy in Santa Rosa is a G-bar above invoice (supposedly), below MSRP. Just picked up 21 cement TRD OR AC, premium pkg/led package, w/o all the silly stuff I can do off Amazon for a 1/3 the price, for $40k. Not sure how good of a deal it is for the left coast or during COViD but hey it’s done. Right place, right time. Buyer was waiting for 6mos for it, got there, where I was looking at a corolla for my daughter, he saw voo-doo blue mechanics taco, wanted it, and released his. Now it’s mine!

My Army Green TRDOR is supposed to get delivered here to Denver this week, and I read about this train derailment yesterday. I thought that my Tacoma might be on this train because the Tacoma was built in Baja California. I figured this Utah route might be the delivery route. Anxious all day yesterday, then I called my dealer this morning to check the status and they told me mine is leaving Texas this morning to be delivered in the next day or so. Such a relief, but hella sad for all the others that have been waiting for theirs for the past couple months.

Holy crap! I was just thinking the same thing... my Taco is supposed to be delivered to Denver this week, but my salesperson is on leave right now

Costco program is definitely the way to go. Most dealers have an upcharge in my area as I drove an hour to scoop up my truck. I got my 2021 Sport Premium for $4200 off MSRP...$39900 after selling my 2018 Sport Cement for months prior after remove/replacing all the mods (tire, wheels, steps, bed mat, grill, floor liners).

They keep telling me MSRP for a dc TRD or 4x4. Ugh.

Pretty crazy story, actually. The train was going 60 MPH when it crossed a bridge that goes over a (normally dry) wash in the middle of no-where. There was a flash flood and the water inside the wash was over the top of the bridge. The train basically hydroplaned and left the rails, causing all of the locomotives and several cars to overturn. The cars at the front that overturned were full of Toyotas and Nissans. There were 3 employees on the train, and they had to climb up onto the wreckage to avoid being swept away in the floodwaters. It sounds like they had to ride it out for hours before rescuers were able to get to the scene and save them.

Well, you've only waited 5 months - might as well make it 9 months. BUT, on the bright side, it will be a 2022!!! Seriously though, this royally bites the big one! Good luck and hopefully they can get you a replacement quick.

That probably explains why it's not even on their dealership website. $41k is much more expected, given the current market conditions. Hell, they're asking over $52k for this one:

Almost had a Taco…

so, i put my $500 deposit at Fredd Hass Toyota in Houston, TX. Was told it would be here in a few days. I ended up selling my car at carmax the same day at Carmax because the dealer offered me 9k LESS than what Car max was willing to pay…

I was in no rush, so I patiently waited… yada yada, two weeks later, the salemans tells me someone bought my Taco and they are trying to find me another one. Keep in mind, they don’t know what inventory is coming in till it’s actually on its way.

pretty pissed off, I got my deposit back.

Planning to get a TRD Pro 2022 model, But I just saw the new Electric Ford Lightening which offers insane amenities for its price point. I hope Toyota pulls through with the 2022 Tundra to compete.

Even so, I still want a Taco! They offered $1500 below msrp, which doesnt seem like a good deal to me. What do you guys think at that price point right now, considering 2022 is rolling in a few months?
