    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
the other options for dealing with front end floppiness is boxing and caging. There's a reason it's always the answer to a lot of problems.

My honest opinion is the tabs on the crossmember are a serious weak point in that design. If it were me, I would be putting tubes in from the core support to the front cross member and attaching the skid that way. You’re relying solely on some weak stamped tabs to keep that skid together.

No doubt. They’re way too weak on their own. I was going to gusset them with plate or maybe run tube over the bolt and up to the frame and gusset over to the cross member. Not sure yet. Trying to keep the weight down and fight the urge to throw material around without good reason.

Tying the core support to the front crossmember makes the bumper all that much stronger while giving a solid base for a skid that will take a ton of abuse. Need more?

When I go to glass and rebuild the front bumper the bumper it’s self will tie into the JD pivots. It triangulates the front frame horns while adding a skid all in one shot.

Definitely bring the skid back to meet the crossmember on the LCA kit, or failing that attach it to the crossmember where the Diff supports mount. Those tabs you've bolted to the skid support to are not nearly strong enough to support that part of a skid, you'll bend them right off.

You planning on adding tube on either side of the skid? You'll want to give additional support from that giant hole the skid will be covering. Like Harry has done but yours is obviously a slightly different design.

Was going to do a tapered wing from the square tube up and some bracing in the middle but may do a thinner wall 1” tube running up the sides and middle. Still tinkering with it.

Alright guys since I know you love discounts and deals I’ve got one for you.

I have one complete LT kit in stock with Fox shocks... below is a picture of the invoice at retail and if you buy the complete package I’ll take $200 off. The order must be taken as a complete package and I will not split it up so please don’t ask. Again this stuff is in stock and there is no wait time for shocks

What’s the lead time on the replacement LCA pivot replacement

and is there any people’s build you would not consider it suitable for?

They are in stock and every single Tacoma in the world should have them unless you go TTB or solid axle :)
