Looking to make a swap from my stock wheels and tires on my 2021 TRD OR, to Method's 16" 704's and Toyo's Open Country AT/III.

I've seen others concerns about rubbing and whatnot, so I'm trying my best to consider that, as well as just having the truck look good.

    Thoughts? cheers!

Wheel brand is not all that important here, tire brand is only minorly important as the same size can vary a bit from brand to brand. What is most important is the wheel offset and tire size that you're planning to run. Without that info no one can provide any input on your situation.

Sorry about that... I'm brand new to the scene.

From what I'm looking at through DiscountTire/AmericanTire: Wheel offset is 0 and tire size is 30.63".

It's not only diameter but width of the tire - what size tire are you looking at? Based on your stated diameter I assume you're talking about the stock size - 265-70-16? If so, you'll be fine with that setup, it's quite conservative.

That's correct - 265-70-16 what I'm currently looking at. Any opinions or suggestions on changing the size in some way?

Well, most of us just want to go larger, lol. Larger diameter tires = more ground clearance. The type of ground clearance that you can't get with a lift kit.

265-75-16 or 265-70-17 is what everyone will recommend as the "biggest that will fit without rubbing" in basically any situation. But, you could still rub if you had some funky wheel offsets or poor alignment settings. That's the size I went with and am pretty happy with the choice. But, in hindsight I wish I would have gone more aggressive. Specifically, I've been eyeing some 255-85-16 which is a 33" tire vs 31.5". It's a lot easier to prevent rubbing when you stick to a skinnier tire like that. The more common 33" tire people run is a 285 which will almost certainly lead to rubbing whereas lots of guys (especially the 3rd gens) can get away with a 255 in 33" without rubbing.

Currently running what you are looking at, just a bigger size (285/70r17s) with Method's 17" 704's right now on my gen3. I have a stage 3 Kings Suspension Kit and its adjusted to about 2-2.5" lift in the front with up to 3". There is very minimal rubbing with this but still does rub a touch at certain angles. I ran 2 sets Toyo AT IIs on my last Taco and loved them. Went with the AT IIIs for my current build and have loved every minute of them.

Awesome! I appreciate the input a ton! I've not heard anything but great things on the AT III's. The only other tire I'm considering now is the Falken Wildpeaks... Struggling to make the decision between the two.

At some point I plan to modify the suspension, but I'll be doing the tire/wheel swap with the stock suspension at the moment. One mod at a time, else the missus will not be pleased lol.

I hear that. Also I found that reaching out direct to 4wheelparts is what got me a decent deal on install/alignment/changing the sensors to the new tires for my setup. Ended up saving at least a couple hundred bucks just by calling to make sure I was getting the best deal. Plus they price match.

I have 16” 701’s with the AT3’s which is almost the same wheel just less spokes with 285/75-16’s and they’re killer. I did lift mine 2” but with a cmc and have zero rub. The offset is probably perfect on our trucks.
