Afternoon whatevers. Turns out that run has done some bad shit to my knee. Joint pain, left side of the knee and I have no idea what the hell is going on. Accidentally pivoted a little bit on my foot and....wow. Gonna take some anti inflammatories and hopefully with some rest (which is impossible at work) it'll be better soon. Next step is to get an appointment with the local sports doc and ask how I got shit knees

 

And expensive.

 

Hope you get feeling better and the docs figure something out. Aches and pains suck. Strange or normal I'm not sure if it's part of getting old but my worst time is about the first 5 minutes after getting up in the morning. Mostly my feet hurt.

Seeing as how I'm only 27, I'm really hoping the gray hairs weren't my warning that my body has taken a sharp turn towards that rocking chair on the porch yelling at clouds. Probably just inflamed as I haven't ran in quite some time and I'm sure my body was lighting up like the warning lights on a car when you roll it, or a Volkswagen when you start the engine

Adventures With Gritto, Part 2

Mrs Gritto and I departed early this morning to go find Gettysburg's "Lost Avenue".
Good thing, because it was very humid today.

The end of Clapsaddle Road:



The beginning of the Park Service access trail.
At the far side of the clearing, the trail plunges into the woods.




Park property is just a narrow ribbon between private property.
The Posted signs helped keep us on track.
Nevertheless, I managed to lose the Trail once and had to find it again while Mrs Gritto waited.

Keep Out...and we really mean it.

Obviously, the Park Service manages to mow Neill Avenue from time to time.
I think they must bring the mower up this farm lane beside the sign.

We got home in time for lunch.
I had to pick 4 ticks off her, and one off me.

It was a good thing we started early in the morning.
The dew was heavy on the vegetation and our feet got soaked, but anyway...

An hour after we got back there was an almighty thunderclap.
It sounded like it was less than 100 yards away from the house.
Scared the shit out of Mrs Gritto's cats.
Then came the rain.

Enough "adventure" for one day.
