Finally received and installed the Subaru Kicker tweeters. Sound is as good as can get with the basic radio/cd player. Will get a 6.75 inch touch screen as soon as I figure out required cable etc. moving the dinky useless led mirror rear camera image to a head unit. I did swap out the HVAC knobs to the lighted knurled ones for arthritic reasons. By the way I did find the hidden rear headliner speakers in my access cab. If I fade 100% to rear and crank up volume it sounds like a child whispering in the back seat. Awesome job on that Mr Toyota. At least my 2016 access cab had rear door speakers. Does anyone know if a third gen camera cable, from the oem camera to the head unit, will be plug and play for a 2nd gen.

Just installed my best mod so far. Check out the fresh TacomaWorld sticker.

I need to get around to re-routing my CB coax to my center console, now that I've moved my antenna to the front of the truck.

I that case then anything you put in your bed could do the same including any mounted the bed tracks... so I retrospect that would anything regardless of what it is is a deadly hazard to you? I'm lost... it is strapped tight & I dbl check daily. I also have a back rack to keep anything coming through.

Headliner speakers are the "rear" speakers in 2nd gen access cabs. Mounted under the hesdliner just above and behind the front seat headrests. Apparently they are wafer thin and very useless.

I'd like to congratulate Toyota for being able to make a truck and engine last over 400,000 miles and at the same time not be able to build a door that'll stay open on the slightest of inclines.

Another day of work for the truck. Pretty standard tow today at around 4,000 pounds.
    20210721_084807.jpg

More work for the Taco, this time it was hauling a trashed outboard motor. I have a hook that screws into the outboards flywheel and makes them easy to move. Unfortunately this flywheel didn't have its retaining nut so when the outboard got high enough to go over the sides of the bed the /&#$%×! dropped onto my AFU tailgate so now my AFU tailgate is FUBAR. I built a steel 1"x1" frame inside my tailgate many months ago which is now bent. I'm pretty sure if that frame wasn't in there my FUBAR tailgate wouldn't be useful at all anymore. I'm guessing it was around 250 pounds.

Installed a set of Spacers on my buddies tacoma & also a Ubolt flip kit with superbumps! Everything went super smooth. You know I had to paint the axle where the previous ubolt plate was & trim the excess ubolt tips. Gotta make sure my buddy was DIALED

Ran across pix of my older Toyota trucks. Thought I would post them while thinking how I ended up with another 2nd gen. Every one I owned was great except the 1987 timing change ate into the water passage and mixed oil and water. Sold it with 82k miles. Should have kept it. Should have kept every one of them. Well maybe not the 3rd gen. Funny that every one was my favorite for its own individual reason. Notice the "history of running boards" theme.yota 008.jpg
