Mine came on for the 10,000 mile service last week. I only had around 9,300 miles. It comes on almost every time I start it and I'm still not to 10,000 yet. I did schedule the service with the dealership it's included with your truck and you can do it in the Toyota app with out even speaking to a humanoid life form if you don't want to.

If you're here worrying about the maintenance light...who's out there protecting the puddles?

Its almost like there's a reason toyota prints a 400 something page book with a glossary and its own little pouch. Weird

    Its supposed to do that.

@4500 it will illuminate at start up, then go off after a bit.
@5000 it will illuminate and NOT go off.
@6000 the engine shuts down and falls out of the engine bay.

    RFM error.

    Here’s a break down:

5k oil change/rotation - not sure if Toyota has adopted the system where it depends on how you drive (heavy or light foot), your yellow maintenance light may come on sooner than later.

15k oil change/rotation/air filter/AC filter - its about that time these filters are dirty. Depending where you live, it may be super dirty from dusty/dirtt areas or dirty enough to replace.

15/25k / your front and/or rear brakes are probably worn out. Rear brakes, dont need to bother resurfacing rotors, front brakes you should resurface ALWAYS when replacing pads.

30k same as 15k, but with fluids. I am not sure how it is for the Taco, but I would do the rear differential fluid, brake fluid flush, transmission drain and fill (is it “lifetime”?).

90k - drive belts, pulleys, water pump.

this is a general standard for toyota/hondas maintenace… 10 years ago. Im getting old lol
