So, just over 72 hours ago i purchased my dream taco (2016 trd sport) it runs great and i have almost no complaints.

the one complaint i do have is that there are Definetly starting issues coming to light.

to begin. It is never consistant. Up until yesterday it would start relatively easily every time. Since yesterday i have started it multiple times one of which took 10 seconds on the second attempt for the engine to catch.

It will roll over but take varying lengths of time to catch. I have power and upon inspection of the battery everything seems to have proper connections (nothing loose or damaged). Any insight as to what i may need to try next?

Welcome to TW! How many miles on the truck? Have the spark plugs been inspected/replaced? I changed my plugs last year on my 2017 at 60k and found that #3 was not fully torqued so there was a fair amount of carbon build up around the ignition coil. I wasn't having starting issues, but left unchecked, this could've started to cause problems later on.

88,000 on the truck. Spark plugs have not been checked. I was thinking if buying a new battery today and seeing if it was that simple. Still unsolved.

Check the battery and a simple thing would be to make sure the battery connections are tight. They can come loose and mess ya up.

This. OP you can also have any car parts store check to see if you battery is ok before going out and buying a new one.

Does it seem like it's cranking slowly or just cranking longer before it starts?

this is a key question. Sounds like your battery may be on its way out! A simple fix. Let us know what happens after you replace your battery! Given it’s age, average 5 years (depending where you live/environment) is how long a battery lasts from my tech experience.

2016's do not get a fuel pump under the recall. If he was having a fuel pressure issue it would set the CEL.
