Not being approved for options on fidelity is so annoying. Wish I could learn covered calls. Then again I could only do it on ctxr and that one dumped so I prob woulda lost money.

More me explaining my thoughts out loud...I have 1200 shares of $DS. If it hit $3.50 I would probably start selling short term covered calls...

    No...You would have MADE money...
    Like I did...
I SOLD the $2.50 covered for $55 each and bought them back for $5 each...when it crashed
    [IMG]
You make money on covered calls as long as the share price stays below the strike price on expiration....

And you can also miss out on gains if the stock rockets and you're trapped behind a $13 covered call...That happened to me with 100 shares of $AMC...Only missed out on like $4,000...but hey I made $125 on the call..

Those of you watching NURO. Anyone hopping in for some fun if it gets low enough? Something like this support levels don’t really exist as far as I know. Very tempting but also no it’s high risk.

It's called maturity. If we can't talk about the problems we as citizens face and hold those accountable, then we can't correct them and before you know they're running doing what they want and they're beyond fixable. The worst thing in my opinion that you could do is ban the silence of the people across the board on platforms that speak and slap a "it's for the good" sticker on it.

If you're going to ban anything, ban the thread title "How big of tires can I fit" on any post.

covered calls only “lose you money” if they run way up and you have to sell at a at a much lower price.

a la covered calls on amc when it ran way up and treefort had to sell much lower.

So with covered calls is there no initial buy price? Or is it significantly reduced? I need to watch a video on covered calls. I understand normal calls now

    2" suspension lift/wheel spacers.
The straddle is pricing about a 10% move, call it $6.
I think its time has come to break this range and head up a little, so yes, I do expect good earnings, but that trade I offered up was strictly one to be closed today. The downside risk is limited as the IV will remain high today. That coupled with my belief that it should approach $70 after the ER tomorrow, should make the $2.70 trade work out today.
Atm, the chart looks really weak, its a trap for shorts I think.
You may be able to get that call cheaper though if you wait a few. $62.50 might give out. I don't think it will though.

I gotta dip out for a few.
    g/l you guys.

was bartending throughout my 20’s a couple years back and you just didn’t talk about religion or politics at the bar.
    It was an unspoken rule.
People want to punch each other when they talk about those two topics.
    Always have.
    Certainly do now.

@kairo’s guest house having a water with @not_nick
    Under development
You are selling the rights to your 100 shares at a strike price and a premium you receive. Just the other side of the calls you buy.

    Covered call is
    1. You have 100 shares of $XYZ
    2. You sell the right to someone else to take your 100 Shares of $XYZ at a future date at a strike price...For that right they pay a premium.
    3. You always keep the premium.
    4. Now you can wait it out and hope the price stays below the strike. The option expires worthless for the buyer and you -the seller- keep your premium.
    5. Stock goes over the strike price, you're going to lose your 100 shares on or by expiration date so you can Buy the contract back, or roll it (buy and resell a later date)
    6. Because TIME value makes a contract worth more, as a stock approaches expiration the time value decays so you can buy back below the contract sell price and still make money even if the stock price has gone up...

What I did was sell the right to buy 500 shares (5 contracts) of $CTXR on or by 7/16/21 for $55 ea. For these 5 contracts I received the $275. NOW I MUST have 500 shares to sell this contract...imagine if you sold these contracts without shares (NAKED) and the stock went to $20...Now you owe 500 shares @$20 a share, $10,000...
Now imagine you're $GME and you've sold millions at $4 to $12 and it's trading at $185....now you see why we hold $GME...

The real issue is the anonymity and lack of personal interaction of the internet. Civil discussions that would happen in person degrade to a social mess online because people can't work of each other and behave...

Talking about most things after a few drinks usually doesn't get you too far to begin with.

    However, pass me another one!

100% absolutely. There's a lot of things online that people wouldn't dare say to others if they were around them. That's where having a civil conversation would be much easier lol.
