Feel pretty fortunate to have stumbled across the RSI smart cap while looking at cap options... never liked caps that much but happened to find a Sport in stock locally on Monday. Loaded it up and installed it at home same day. Definitely helped to have a few hands to raise up and install, but solo assembly was no prob. Still working on getting fly rod holder and awning setup, but so far couldn't be happier.

Later today I'll be working on some black 80/20 as tent support crossbars... Rod holder will rest on those with rubber bushings to allow for bed/cab flex but keep it from bouncing. So far so good with this cap... love the look.

One note with setup- the passenger side cap windows would open up so fast and basically hit the rod holder and lights I have mounted below... I took off one of the struts and the window now opens slowly and holds level with rod holder now- I'm sure I may have to replace the struts a bit earlier now, but its nice that its not banging on anything in use.

Also- the branding stickers come off very easily if you don't like the "smart cap" text on the cap.

Question: how do you guys clean the front cap window and back cab window? Any “reach” tool recommendations? My hands don’t fit in the space between the cap and the cab.

Loosen up the 3 clamps on each side of the rail on the bed and slide the cap toward the tailgate a few inches to get in there.

With mine snugged up against the cab it doesn’t get too dirty, what dirt that is there isn’t easy to see from the drivers seat, so for the most part I don’t worry about it.

I triple fold a beach towel and work it in between the cab and the cap. Drag it out and repeat. It seems to work well enough. I have a treated water system so I don't get nearly as much hard water residue on my windows.

Quick question for everyone with an RSi cap, would you be interested in a MOLLE panel for the top that attaches where the table supports would (6 nuts)?

Got a buddy with a plasma cutting table and we were kicking around the idea. No idea on the price but trying to see if it was something worth running with.

Nice setup! Thanks for the pics! Can't wait until my cap arrives, it's been a long wait.

Got the 1”x2” 80/20 crossbars installed today, super low profile and will eventually join with 80/20 bars mounted under the rooftop tent base. Mounted to 1/4 aluminum T plates.

Just have to add end caps for the 80/20 and we’re set. Crazy solid. So impressed with this cap.

Nice! What rack do you have in front? Do you have a side view pic?

I did the rhino rack tracks in front. Rivet and bolt down for the tracks and some rhino rack crossbars up front on cab top.

Haven't followed this thread so it may have already been mentioned - but has anyone else noticed the inconvenience of having to walk around to the passenger's side to open the sliding window? I know why they did it, but I am wondering if they have considered reversing that for the American market.

Just a minor inconvenience I've noticed that may inform potential purchasers.

Yup, it's the only true negative I have with the cap. All other caps are made so that you open the window from inside via the back window slider. Add to the fact I have a lift and short arms and I have to climb on my tire to be able to open up the window.
