I am supposed to be picking up a TRD OR Access cab tomorrow. Only one I have found is 3 hours away. I gave the VIN to my insurance company and they say it comes up as Tacoma SR. Anyone else have that happen
I had window sticker emailed to me but not sure why it comes up as SR and not TRD

It's not uncommon for that to be inaccurate, for whatever reason. When I traded in my TRD sport, it came up as a pro. I wouldn't pay it any mind.

The first time I took my TRD SPort into my local mechanic for the oil change after my free oil changes ran out, he said mine also came up as an SR5! I told him that I paid way more for it, so please do not refer to it as an SR5 but a TRD!

Just make sure your insurance company notes it as a TRD and do it via email. It will be fine.

The OR/Sport trims are just packages added onto an SR5.

Most of the TRD VINs show up as SR5. So, something might be wonky about the one you are looking at. Check the VIN with an online decoder. Here's what mine says:

My neighbor just bought a TRD Pro but for some reason it's got a big OR decal on the bed

Go here: https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification and enter your vin. This will tell you exactly what your truck is. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. Per the Toyota website it's a TRD.
It will be good to get back in a Tacoma for some stupid reason I sold a Gen 2 TRD OR TX and bought a used JKU. BIGGEST mistake.i have ever made. Time for the new build to start next weekend

Do you have any photos of your truck? Perhaps it was rebadged

TRD Sport /OR /Pro is just a package of add ons. It’s like I’ve heard the same thing for say like a Mustang GT500, on paper it is just a regular everyday GT.

    Yeah.
Just make sure your insurance company has that info. I had the same thing happen on my 2nd gen, insurance agent said that their database is sometimes slower to get updated to the exact model. But, in the case of a total loss, you'll want the payout to be accurate for what the truck is.

I wouldn't worry about what the insurance company says too much. You know what truck you're buying and I've seen insurance companies list cars as slightly different trim levels. For example, it might say Tacoma SR/SR5/TRD DCSB 4x4.

There's a thread about this.

Does the truck have a factory rear locker, if so it is an OR.

I just entered my VIN from the link above... it is way off.

    2014 Sport
    The errors:
    - 16' tires... I have 17"
    - black door handles... mine are color matched
    - base model... mine is a Sport

    Oh well.
