I have been away from the forum for a while and come back to see that other members have had a bad experience with KTJO as well. I had ordered the tailgate lock kit which never seemed to ship. I contacted her about it and got back a long line of shit about how many hours she works at her full time job, blah. blah ad nauseum. I really didn't care about her lame excuses but was polite. She could have just shipped the kit rather than spending all of that time typing up excuses. About a week later she contacted me and said that my payment was short, which it was not, and she wasn't going to ship unless I sent her three more dollars. I guess it was Paypal fees. Nowhere did it say to cover the fees. I debated at that point about canceling the order because of all the delays and excuses but sent the three bucks. Days pass and nothing has been shipped. I contact her again and she said, "I told you I wasn't shipping until I got three dollars". I explained that I sent her the extra three dollars days ago. She then preceded to bitch me out for not following her instructions. Another long diatribe. Her instructions were to send her three bucks, which I did. In frustration I told her to cancel my order and refund my money. No refund and no kit, then a week later the kit showed up. Looks like she didn't follow my instructions. I vowed to never do business with her again. Looks like others have done the same.

    Oh man.

The KTJO 4x4 experience summed up pretty nicely right there. Thanks for the post!

I just spent so many hours installing this thing, what a treachorous time. It was easier to install the MESO side mirror lights FFS. The U-clip shredded and then made it impossible to take off without destroying the bolt head. I ended up at Ace Hardware replacing all of the bolts and the U-clip with better steel pieces. I almost recommend getting a better U-clip for yourself to start because if you accidentally misalign the brass one, it might do this to you. The top bolt stripped its own threads off, which I've never seen, because I had to take it on and off a lot, so I ended up with an M8 to finish the top and recut the threads. And the bottom bolt alignment was nearly impossible so I left off the metal sleeve piece because it was too rigid to align. Finally finished it after WAY TOO LONG.

All in all, the handle is a little soft and squishy because the bolts are so long and thin compared to the passenger side which has wider, shorter bolts. It'll probably work for me but it'll take some getting used to that's for sure.

And all I wanted was a damn B-pillar passenger handle and I ended up with this thing. Also I noticed the KTJO4x4 website dramatically changed today so the instructions disappeared too and it's not even available on there.

What a messsss. At least I'll be able to adjust my ass on lunch trips now without swerving ;)

Having not followed all of the threads on this, I have an honest question. Has anyone thought about what happens when the airbags go off? Do these parts alter anything with respect to the airbags? Seems like there might be some serious liability with that.

Yes there’s pictures of how it looks buried deep in here. The design elements are identical to the passenger side. So it should be fine.

It does and I adjusted my seat and found a more comfortable spot that feels better and helps close the blind spot up.

There are pictures of the deployed A pillar airbag buried somewhere in this thread. The airbag exits the A pillar (does not blow A pillar off) on the left side along the window. No bolts hindering deployment. We probably all had a thought about it and installed the handle anyway.

Little of this, little of that.
I messaged runnin4tacos about their listing for this and they said they have it in their warehouse, it’s not drop shipped from KTJO.

I think I’m gonna order from them knowing that there shouldn’t be too long of a wait, since it’s coming for a reputable dealer lol.
