    Yeah, it's been pretty bad. Today is one of the few that we actually get to see the mountains across the way but it only just cleared in the last couple hours. We've got 2 active large fires nearby, but they're probably 50-60 miles away.

    Last weekend when we were looking for a camp spot we were also watching a helicopter put out a small-ish brush fire. I'd guesstimate it was under 50 acres. We could see the mountain smolder from our tent once it got dark.

    Bummer. There was a stretch we drove through where you could taste it in the truck even with the windows all closed and a/c on. You get more used to it than you should this time of year :(

    We also just had a friend's family mostly evacuate for the Dixie fire out in NorCal. I believe they were only under warnings but with the remoteness of where they are it's easy for things to shift. There's only so fast you can go on 2 lane highways that wind through mountains if you're forced to leave.
