Thanks for the info! like i said earlier, i will be posting all of my experiences with both the tent and customer service. I have been texting with Eric asking questions about multiple tents for the past month and he has been quick to respond and always been polite. I just placed my order for the Grunt 20 minutes ago and am hoping to see it by the end of the week next week.

Glad you made this thread, as my posts have been removed in the desert armor deal and coupon thread. And I’ve been banned from that thread.

Just got in the Grunt this afternoon. I was told today by DA that the annex was going to ship separately. Box had some damage with scratch on the bottom of the tent. Going to open it up tonight and throw it on the truck. 15738A4D-23B3-44E5-AB04-154929D58CD4.jpgE7F502E8-4931-43E9-9987-80724E2DDDE5.jpg 15738A4D-23B3-44E5-AB04-154929D58CD4.jpg E7F502E8-4931-43E9-9987-80724E2DDDE5.jpg

Turned out pretty solid. Had a few issues with damage/loose aluminum from holes being drilled so I would recommend really looking over your tents. Going to take it camping next weekend. Here’s some pictures of the damage and it mounted. 49E9F1DD-DB71-470C-A770-0E9679E01FE4.jpg49E9F1DD-DB71-470C-A770-0E9679E01FE4.jpg C35414DC-26BE-4750-92AC-FF017A014B7B.jpg

    Looks good!

you’ll see shavings in there too. Don’t know why that happens during the manufacture process. I mean I know why.. but don’t know why they don’t just sweep it out real quick.

Alright everyone, ill be doing 30+ days in my desert armor grunt in Florida. I have had it mounted to the truck for roughly 8 months and the only issue i have so far is the low quality connections for the lighting, connectors wont stay together......i have to plug them in and then tape them. How is everyone else liking their set ups?

I have much more than 30 days in my Warrior (ABS shell). I could not ask for a better setup. Wait, yes I could but I'd being paying for a name brand but not get much else outside of the "name".

Had a similar issue with the LED connection but that was due to my negligence (in a hurry and left them hooked up). Quick chat with support I had a new LED connector about a week later. Almost 1.5 years later I contacted support for new latches. Without hesitation from support - what's your address so we can send you new latches?? I received 2 new buckle type latches and 2 Velcro latches about a week later. Zero complaints by me.

And yes you'll read much whiney-ness from whiney people about this company. Not comical in the least bit for those folks. But damn.

Had some issues with a large gap when I first received the Warrior but after a couple emails was sent some replacement velcro straps to hold the hardshell down tighter. The wife and I (and pup) have spent 17 nights in it so far over 21' and I can honestly say the tent has been great. Sounds like customer service on Desert Armors end has improved since I ordered my tent but things were pretty spotty a year ago.. many people, including me were having issues getting through or receiving responses back that were actually useful or answered all the concerns. I'm STILL waiting for the annex I had ordered with the tent a YEAR ago. They have sent 'update' emails or responses that say the cargo ships have been stuck off the coast for what seems like months now - as the emails have basically the same response. I understand some of the supply chain delays due to Covid and what not, but there is no way the same ship has been stuck off the coast with my annex. All while they're receiving new stock of tents and other products. I wish they were just transparent about what is actually going on.. could have spent that money on something else. BUT with all that off my chest, the tent has been a blast and there hasn't been any issues with the tent itself in all the time using it. The tent stays mounted on my truck and it has been operated in both rain and shine. If the customer service is better nowadays from what most people are saying then I would have no problem recommending this tent as a hard use option for anyone looking. Product itself has been great for us and has held up through some pretty rough use.

It sounds like these guys are taking care of customers a little better than when they started out. Hopefully the quality issues have also been addressed. I purchased a tent early on from them and it finally arrived months after it was scheduled, and communication was very poor. When it arrived it had many issues that were both from sloppy QC to poor materials, it was all detailed in another thread. I eventually sold the tent cheap and moved on. DA did finally make things somewhat right by giving me some goodies and offering another tent at a reduced price. I feel like they are good people with good intentions, just needed to learn how to run a business and provide some customer service. I picked up an MIA tent and was very happy with it, but sold it to try something else. I ended up getting an iKamper 2.0 this last black Friday from a vendor on here for the same price the warrior xl is going for. I've now had Smittybilt, MIA, DA, Tepui, and CVT tents. iKamper blows then all out of the water with overall quality and customer service (CVT and Tepui had great customer service as well). The overall fit, finish, and parts on the iKamper are much better and the quality is noticeable. Also, the first RTT I have ever purchased that didn't require assembling anything out of the box, tighten a bunch of bolts, fix some things that I shouldn't have to, nor did I need to clean up a mess of aluminum shavings. People mention how much more expensive they are, but that doesn't seem to be the case when I look at prices right now. Anyways, just my opinion and experience. Still hoping the DA guys do well in their venture and glad to see happy customers!

Shoot. Let me follow up and see if they have annexes or what the status is. That’s a hot minute.

Followed up. Annexes are coming this week. I’m sure you’ve heard this plenty. But I know they’re in the next box to arrive. And that’s in Long Beach currently.

When i let them know of the poor connectors i never did get a response about replacements or anything of the sort.

Follow up with them. Sometimes things get overlooked. It’s not right, but they are human.
