    Yeah.
Lots of small earthquakes are regular occurrences in Oklahoma apparently. Earthquake tracking sites seem to be all over the place, but looks like a 3.x or so near Quinton, OK.

I've only felt one when we lived west of St Louis. There was a 4.9 when I lived in the SF bay area as a kid, but I was running down the street when it happened and didn't feel it. People were coming out of their houses and I was like, "I didn't do anything, I swear!"

When the fracking stopped, so did the quakes. Oklahoma is still fracking (disposal injection) and still have low grade quakes everyday.

You are a 2.5 magnitude at best, Rich, you know it happened but you didn't feel it.

    A thing or two...
I'm too far away to feel an earthquake that small. Also, I was asleep, so I doubt I would feel it.

Don't feel bad. We used to sleep through smaller earthquakes all the time when we lived in CA when I was younger. The only indication was the morning news or if a photo had fallen over. Every once in awhile, we'd get one big enough to rattle the sliding closet doors and wake you up. Wait a few seconds for it to stop and roll over and go back to bed.

Are you short? There’s no way I could sleep in my 5’ box.

Also, Telluride is my favorite mountain town I’ve been to in Colorado.

At the beginning of June I took a rental Jeep Compass Trailhawk on some trails in Aspen/Glenwood Springs and got wayyy back in the mountains. It was awesome and I was seriously impressed with what the vehicle was capable of with someone who thinks he knows what he’s doing behind the wheel. Everyone else on the trail had Wranglers on 35s and were giving me funny looks. I went as far as I could until I got to the northern side of the mountains and the snow was deep with lots of muddy ruts. Not wanting to get stuck so far away in the rental with no gear, I turned back.

Kudos to Midland Radio. I had a short in either the mic plug or the data port on my MXT275, and it was turning off by itself, and then wouldn't even turn on. I called their customer service and they are sending me a new complete unit, no questions asked, no request for return on old radio. Stellar service.

Actually no plans as of now. Took advantage of the crazy housing market and sold house in Dallas. Will be remodeling a small house on my in-laws property for temporary living. Take some time off, do some traveling and then will be looking for a career change. Tired of sitting at a desk staring at spreadsheets.

Finished sound deadening the front doors yesterday. I'll finish the back doors after work today. Already a noticeable difference in outside noise and audio quality. It'll be interesting to see (or hear) the final result.

    Yeah.
I just did this as well. I had done the "cheap" stereo upgrade by just doing speakers and Subaru Kicker tweeters, then added a Kicker Key 180.4 amp since it was so under-powered. It sounded good, but way too many tweeters (like, 8). I didn't do sound deadening at the time.

I decided to switch to component speakers up front and run them in bi-amp mode (2 channels to the woofers, 2 channels to the mid-highs in the dash) so they could be driven more efficiently, and not waste power on the rear speakers. I went with the Kenwood 6903C speakers since they have mid-highs for the dash rather than just tweeters, bringing the sound stage up a bit. But important note: They DO NOT just bolt into the dash position. I had to trim the hole a bit larger and drill a hole for the other mounting screw. But, you can get them to fit.

Since I was pulling doors apart, I decided to do the sound deadening this time around. Working inside doors with sharp edges and using alcohol to clean surfaces makes for an exciting time! I used Amazon Basics sound deadener, very pleased with it. Did all the doors and the back of the cab, not going nuts and doing the roof unless I need to get in there some day, but I have plenty left over.

It is quieter, but hard to tell how big of a difference it was. Wish I would have downloaded an app to measure dB level before and after on the highway. What I did notice is that every little rattle and buzz was very noticeable afterwards. The speakers came with a ton of stick-on foam, so I've been using that to attack trouble spots. The main one was the little snap-in panel behind the internal door latch. Heavy bass would make that thing buzz like crazy. I've heard it before but could never locate it.

It's interesting that you don't necessarily need to cover the entire panel. You aren't trying to "block" sound (although it does do that to a point), you are dampening the vibrations that sound transmits to the panels. So, you can spread out small pieces everywhere on the panel. After I did the inside of the door skin, I would just tap around and listen for spots that resonate and slap a piece there. You need to dampen both the exterior and interior panels for the best results.

I used acetone as a cleaner, so I feel your pain. :bananadead:

My dad has a db app and used it when we went to Little Rock the other day. (He has tinnitus and was dealing with my noisy tires lol) It maxed out at 70db in the cab @ about 65mph. I'm interested to see what difference it will make after I complete the project. I initially purchased the materials to do the roof, but after realizing the amount of work it takes to remove and work around the headliner, I decided to start with the doors.

I ended up covering about 90% inside the door with Noico black 80mil. I replaced the vapor barrier with a sheet of closed cell foam rather than the butyl mat, mainly to save weight, but also it's easier to work with. I also covered all holes to attempt to seal the door a bit.

    Yeah.
The Amazon stuff appears to be 80 mil. I didn't go nearly as far as you. My truck has closed-cell foam inserts that cover up the holes behind the vapor barrier, so I just put strips on the back side of the interior panel and put everything back like it was. Stuff is pretty heavy, probably added 20 pounds to the truck.

The Amazon box had a shipping weight of 40lbs for the 36 sq ft of material. I figure it'll add about 6-8lbs per door as I won't need all of it for the doors. I thought about doing the skeleton as well but I couldn't justify adding that much weight.
