    I'm curious how many people here really, truly believe that after incidents like Tucson or VT, their current rights with firearms are, or will be threatened? Do you think that the 'dem libtards' will take away your guns or cut down on your magazine capacity? Or do you trust that the other side will always block/fight legislation like that? Are you one of those guys that will buy a bunch of mags and ammo afterwards (I am).

    And fyi, I am a 'dem libtard' but I just really like guns. I practice with them all the time and they make me feel safe. If someone kicks in my door, I take comfort in knowing I have plenty of 12 gauge and 7.62 to escort them back out. I'll admit, after incidents like these, I tend to buy a few more magazines and load up on ammo juuuust in case (not to mention the impending threat of zombies....but thats for another discussion).

    Personally, I don't see us ever losing the right to bear arms, but I'll admit I was kind of surprised at how easy it was for me to buy a wasr10, a bunch of 30rd mags, and a few thousand rounds of ammo (I live in VA). I didn't really think the background check into me was all that deep.

    but i do believe in control to some small extent, such as felons convicted of a violent crime not being able to own guns.

    i dont really think that their is any way they can take away that right from us. and if they do...

    We've all heard it before, but what some people say as a joke I say with conviction. "If guns are responsible for killing people then my keyboard is responsible for all my misspelled words."

    People have been trying to solve the same variable to the great equation since the dawn of time. Everyone forgets it at one point in time or another, and some have never thought about it because they unconditionally assume that it's a constant and it's not. It's the Human variable. It's unpredictable, and violent but can also be compassionate and kind. Eliminating it from the equation is not the answer, but neither is ignoring it. Most precautions are good because they are prudent. Some precautions can hinder more than help because they are an over reaction. However, (to use the parlance of our times) shit happens. All you can do is accept that something beyond your preparation and precautions will happen and all you can do is deal with it as wisely and as best you can when it does.

    I for one will just keep buy guns and mags as fast as I would have otherwise.

    I think that "gun control" is a farce.

    The only difference between Jared Lougher being a legal gun owner and an illegal gun owner happened when he pulled the trigger, despite plenty of warning signs dating back to at least 2006.

    I also have a real problem with 2nd Amendmenters who stockpile munitions because they think the boogeyman is going to come crashing through their door and take them away. (which I have expressed many times on this forum)

    I have several firearms and I live in no fear of them being taken.

    Here's the thing: firearms are tools. Treat/use them as such, and always with respect, and you should never have a problem.

    It's not hard to link high-profile incidents like this with knee-jerk legislation. There have already been bills introduced in congress to limit magazine capacity, even in the short time since the shooting. If you don't believe it's possible, you're not paying much attention.

    yeah the funny part about it is that a trained marksman can effectively eliminate just as many "threats" with a single shot rifle than with one that has a high capacity mag.
    so, essentially, they are saying "we only want you to be able to kill 10 people before reloading and killing 10 more.
    whats the effing difference here? if some db wants to kill people, he or she is going to kill people. whether its with a gun, knife, car, baseball bat, or purple dildo.

    guns kill people.....just like spoons made rosie odonnel fat.

    whats wrong with stockpiling? ammo is only going to go up you can buy it now and it will be cheaper in the long run ammo has risen significantly in the last few year and wages havent kept up...

    load your own......you can get a decent reloading setup(all inclusive except for indidual caliber dies) for around $200. if you shoot alot, it's the only way to go.....

    That cant be the worst thing on here. I'm not psychotic, sociopathic, paranoid, delusional, or anything related. I'm happily married with a beautiful wife, four dogs, and a steady job. I hope I never have to shoot anyone, and hopefully my firearms will be the most expensive things I will never be forced to use.

    A 1000 rounds sounds like a lot, but figure if I go to the range with 6 mags/30 rounds each, that's 180 rounds per visit. That comes out to about 5-6 trips to the range. If I was stockpiling claymores and grenade launchers then I'd say there would be reason for concern :D
