Just south 40,000. My odometer shows 36,536. I had 500 miles on the truck when I put the tires on. Then adjusting for size puts me at 39,000. Not great, but not the worst.

Has anyone traveled from Whitney Reservoir to Smith and Morehouse Reservoir? There's a lot of private land in this area, so I'm not sure if there is a clear path.

Theyre just coming up on the back side of their life span. Crazy loud and barely any traction. Was sliding all over yesterday.

mainly the highway noise is so bad. Also, they've been impossible to get even close to properly balanced.

That sux. On the plus side, it sounds like a good excuse to buy some new shoes.

That's what happened to my Cooper ST Maxx's after 25,000 miles.

That's really good for a mud terrain tire.

    Curious about that also.
Looks to be a connection down East Fork Moffit Crk, then Moffit Crk out to Weber Canyon Rd.
Can't tell if there's a gate at the Weber River crossing.

There is a small piece of private land and private community at the Weber canyon road. There is also a gate that the forest service put up at moffit pass on the Whitney side. So unfortunately it’s not doable.

That's the route I was looking at. However, I believe the area below Moffit Creek is gated.

That's what I was afraid of. Maybe I'll just try and go as far as I can, then go back the way I came and end up on the east side of 150 and explore over there for half the day.

So I may be trading in my ‘16 taco for an F-150 (dang kids are getting bigger).
As I’m ripping out my mods for trade in - I have a question. I have wildpeaks on 17” matte black 4 runner oem pros. Is it worth keeping them on or should I find someone willing to trade for stocks plus cash?

also if any of you are running 3rd gens I will probably have a lot of cosmetic type stuff for sale very very soon.

Headed to mirror lake with the fam for a few days. Anyone have any good camping suggestions for a RTT? I’m used to the BLM roads down south.

No doubt Tacomas are better for off-pavement fun. But you'll get so much more for the money with a 1/2 ton. The big 3 brands are slaying Toyota in MPG and power. I've put over half a million miles on three company Ford trucks with only routine maintenance, no breakdowns. 2 of them were even ecoboosts (GASP!). But I have been left stranded by my former low-mile 2nd gen Tacoma. One of many reasons I no longer believe in Toyota superiority.

A couple F150 "secrets" I've learned: most poverty-spec XL trim level F150s are better equipped than mid-level Tacomas. They don't look it from the outside, but an extended cab F150 has a bigger, more useful rear area than a double cab Tacoma. My favorite of course, you can get a locking rear diff as a stand-alone option on any trim level F150. No off-road package, fake skid plates or dude-bro decals required. It also works independently of the 4WD, no grey wire mod required.

I'm in the same boat. The backseat is awful small with three child seats. My oldest can't even buckle himself (even with an extender) if the baby is already in. The problem is....I have no idea what to replace it with. Was thinking Tundra, but can't touch one for under 40k right now, even used (w/less than 50k miles and in good shape). The Tundra's are also so underequipped tech wise when compared to the others. I have driven Chevy, Ford and, Dodge cars as my work vehicle, but fleet cars aren't the best judge of longevity.. they get abused. So far my charger has had the best techand been the most fun to drive,, but it is also a 2020. The others were 2016 and 2012 respective. The Chevy was garbage after 80k miles. The Ford was fine for the 60k I had it. Was really considering a Titan XD with the Cummins in it because I also need to tow our 8400 lb trailer, but then they discontinued it. So here I sit limping my 08 with 152k on it and my wife's pos tahoe along not able to afford to replace either one with the current market conditions or what to replace them with.

I'd keep them on, might help it sell better. A lot of people try to get those wheels anyways.

My dad has the new Ram TRX, now I know that's overkill but even the lower level Ram's are great trucks, plenty of room and they come pretty loaded. Every mfr is going to have it's quirks, you just have to decide what ones you can live with haha
