The first time I met him I was filming a show in Boston. We went into their dressing room and it was empty. All of a sudden the tablecloth lifts up and a gigantic cloud of smoke comes pouring out. The band was underneath the craft services table fish bowling by pulling the tablecloth all the way down to the ground. Needless to say his eyes were a little bloodshot during the preshow interview. Very cool guy.

I used sports tape but same principle. The funny part was after it happened and I got it washed out it was still bleeding like crazy. My first thought, after "sweet. I still have my fingers", wasn't "I hope I don't pass out driving to the ER". It was "FUCK. I drove the new car up today. I hope I don't get blood in it". lol

That’s what the little push stick is for... did you push the board right through with your hand and hit the blade or did the board snag and jerk your hand? These are the only two reasonable injury process for this

He was obviously free handing it without the fence. I hope, otherwise he fell asleep dreaming of Kairo talking MOASS. Always puts me to sleep

I'm the same way. I've seen my skull, tendons in my hand, all kinds of crap that would freak people out. I usually just go into triage mode...

I was cutting a piece of 1/2" ply that was about 24" x 45". I needed a 7 1/4" piece and I needed it to be straight since it was for a template to an ornate deck rail picket system we're building. The saw was set up in a shit spot. I pushed the piece through. I let the fence side piece fall to the ground since I needed get the larger piece and rip it again to produce two truly straight sides. When I went to lift it my foot caught a tiny round rock. Small slip put my hand into the blade. It was stupid and I paid the price.

My uncle cut his left thumb off just above the knuckle using a circular saw once. He was ripping a bunch of boards and the blade was so hot it cauterized immediately. They were like “well it’s gonna do more damage to try to fix it” so he only has half a thumb.

Yep. You can't change what happened but you can keep calm. The calmer you stay the lower your heart rate stays the less blood you lose the less likely you are to go into shock. Of course, 7 years on the FD and 25 years as a climber have basically trained me to go into situation assessment, plan, then action mode. This one was easy since I only had me to worry about. lol

I could have moved the damn saw to a flatter area. I could have spent the extra $600 bucks on the SawStop brand. Those are really the only two ways I could have avoided this. If my foot was 5" left or right of that pebble it never happens. You can play the what ifs, and I will, but the reality is I was in a hurry and decided the area was "good enough". It's a lesson I won't forget for the next 15 years hopefully.

Nope. We always have real first-aid kits on site in case things like this ever happen. After I washed it clean from the hose spigot I took 2 6x6" cotton sterile pads and got them wet. Keeping them wet mostly prevents them from sticking to the wound later. Then I wrapped one around each finger. Then I took a roll of 3" gauze and wrapped the whole package. Then used sports tape over the whole thing. After that I got a kitchen garbage bag from the homeowners kitchen and stuck my hand in it. Then I taped the bag at my wrist.

I'm happy to say the new car could be sprayed with Luminol and nothing would show up. lol

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
For that bottle I’d say it’s 100$ over priced

    they go in batches
And some batches are better than others

the last 4 batches have been Ehhh in my opinion

I’d drink makers mark over Kentucky owl

and I am not a makers mark person
