like you said earlier in this thread. :p

but getting a super solid power hookup on any terrain with any power is a fulfilling moment. that's just the performance side. for a MT, especially one with any reinforcement and/or a Core shifter, it's an unbelievable enhancement.

beyond all that just do a search on this site for Motor Mounts in the title and that will speak for itself. damn I've become a fanboi... but for good reason.

I'm just being super nice cus i want a set of trans mounts from @Bonzen

Ok I have to read back. I just love all things metal, I've done more things to my truck than I care to admit.

Still have to do the FJ pedal and a laundry list of other mods.

Thanks for the inspiration, you're leading the charge, I'm just following behind. :)

thanks. it's still better every time i drive.. the Coyoza tune and the last round of exhaust work really helped finish it off. now I'm looking at a new set of wheels, and possibly adding Deaver F85s with a new tire size.

I just did the rc 6 in with adjustable coils . The ride quality increase from stock is freaking awesome . Everyones comments about rc were so negative and I wanted to prove wrong . It was a big purchase to do but I'm very happy with the lift . I want to upgrade to 295/75/16

While you will feel it in the steering wheel if you have a bad (or loose) motor mount, it's going to be more prominent in the floor. So unless you or the front seat passenger is getting a foot massage, then no, it's not likely to solve your issue.

Edit: Also, shame on you...kitten killer.

Oh it's definitely in the floorboards. I used to just feel it in the steering wheel and gas pedal but now I'm feeling it from both feet (left foot resting on the floor) when I'm just idling.

What's the kitten thing about? lol

In that case I would definitely check to make sure the bolts are properly torqued. It's far more likely that one isn't torqued properly than it is one is damaged.

So the general consensus here is "I don't understand these so I'm just gonna say they're dumb and try to discredit the vendor and tell everyone they don't need them"?

Most people don't "need" them, but if you like to go fast in the desert you're gonna break a motor mount...or rip the perch off the frame like I did.

Yes, the truck vibrates a little more without the rubber damping. No, it's not really that bad.

Yes, the truck will put more power to the ground. How? Because when you step on the gas the engine wants to twist (fun fact: when you drive around with your motor mount perch ripped off, the engine twists enough to slam into the bottom side of the hood.) That twisting absorbs energy from the engine into the motor mounts before it goes anywhere else. With solid motor mounts, there's no twisting and no power being absorbed into stretching rubber.

How much do we know about whether the mounts on the block can handle the “added” torque? From what I’ve seen, solid mounts only excel with high tq drag applications. I’m for sure a green in that area tho.

While I can't speak for the 3.5L, my supercharged 3.4L '04 Tacoma pushing ~310hp at the crank has had solid motor mounts for over 150k miles with no issues

    truth. and this:
makes a massive and not subtle difference, at least on the MT trucks when you can rev directly into power without load and drop the power into the drivetrain. for the MTs it's major change to power delivery. but I'm not sure how much benefit for power delivery the ATs can get, bc they must rev from idle while under load.

after all the years of modding I've done on this truck, if i was to buy another stock truck today, then i would install these motor mounts with a tune and exhaust at mile 1. top shelf stuff.
