Oh my god, I know the feeling. I waited 9 months for mine. It was excruciating.

    I will say,

i just spent an hour in accutune and after them having a pair of shocks in stock and them not shipping out right away I went down and asked them what’s going on.

@AccuTune Offroad is the shit. They do in fact actually take apart the shocks that you order and tune them accordingly before shipping them out.

the generic tunes from king and fox are garbage. Order through accutune and be patient because they do actually tune your shocks to what you tell them.

I run icons and just dealt with this EXACT issue. I wanted more ride height. Rather than step up the spring weight change the spring length and you will lose the stiffness. I have a front steel bumper and a winch and this made all the difference

So wait, what spring length and weight are you using WITH steel bumper and winch that is perfect?

Mine are 14” 700lb and I’m definitely in that category (or will be, anyway) on this page: https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/coilover-spring-rates-for-toyota-tacoma-4runner/

i agree with all the good stuff comments and the effort put into these things, but it's untrue that the 'stock' tune on all Kings is garbage. I've been dialing in handling details on my truck for quite a while, and I've been focusing on shock performance to assess what can improve, so at rebuild time i can have Accutune do it with good info from me. i have honestly not been able to pinpoint any significant fault or deficiency. if i had them revalved it would be a very small change, nothing huge for sure. that may be great to get at rebuild time, but it's not going from garbage to great. maybe from great to even better or something.

I struggled with two problems. Stuffing the front end, and not sitting high enough to match the work i just did to the rear.

I was convinced 700 pound coils was the solution. I was maxed out on 600 coils. After visiting them, i got the same spring weight but the new coils are an inch longer.

and the height is much better as well as that little extra bit of preload length helped with the bottoming out.

garbage was not the best terminology i apologize. Haha

but very generic is a bit better. the things valving changes is incredible and the difference from accurate valving is huge

I'm really looking forward to trying the next step. i put a lot of effort into reinforcement to isolate shock performance from frame flex especially at the attachment points. i have some ideas for them to dial it in, but I'm still not sure how much improvement I'll get. fact is, though, every time i went into the unknowns with one of these truck projects the results have been beyond my expectations, and i expect the same from shock tuning. regardless, I've been super impressed with how right on my setup has performed and the shocks were good right out of the box.

Just to clarify, you have 700# coils that are an inch longer?
