Radio problems

    My 2017 Tacoma is having radio problems.
    Occasionally all radio buttons are like frozen and won't do anything. After about 5 minutes it will work properly. Then yesterday it just changed channels without any buttons being touched. Toyota dealer said he's never heard of this.

    I have the same problem but my Tacoma is a 2013 access cab the dealer said they tries to reset it but could not ( I think they did not even try ) mine has been doing this for several months

    The 2014 4Runner I previously owned did that. I downloaded a firmware update and reprogrammed it and it worked fine after that.

    I will see if I can find where I got that from and report back.

    This is a common problem on some Lexus cars. Usually an update fixes it, if not, a new radio is needed.

    They need to check for radio updates.
    I Did updates everyday..
    Locking up
    Rebooting
    Frozen buttons and touchscreens

    My dealer said all they did was unplug the power and reconnect the power that's it

    By Toyota's website there is no upgrade for my radio it is a semi base model

    Sorry I don’t have access to this stuff anymore.
    However,
    I have never had a newer vehicle 6 months or older that didn’t have some update.

    Not everything gets “ put out there” to the public in a timely fashion.

    If they didn’t check for updates by vin then they didn’t do their job.

    By chance there is really not one then there are a few things you can try.
