I have a ROKU tv I Friggen LOVE...
I knew I should have bought them ages ago at like $30 but noooooo

 

I have a ROKU Ultra on the TV in our bedroom. It blows away the newer LG "Smart' TV that's in the living room. My next TV will be a ROKU model.

I actually got rid of my last 2 ROKU JUL 30 calls on Friday. I sold them when it was up $40 or so at 9AM. Had I known it was gonna keep running I would have held them. But a 300% realized gain was hard to say no too.

I've still got the AUG 20 $400 and will hold that for a while longer. It's at a measly 200% gain right now. lol

The TCL Roku TV's are unparalleled. Their picture is second only to the LG oled and by a fraction, and the performance blows away anyone...You and I are in the same "club" and watching a 4K UHD x265 is amazing...

 

Do you have the 5 series or the 6 series? I'm do for a living room TV upgrade soon and TLC is high on the list.

 

We got the 75” LG Nano91 last fall and I’m still blown away by the picture. It was a big upgrade from our 60” Vizio 1080p from 2013. That’s now in our bedroom and it’s ridiculously big for that space.

55" 6 series...
The picture quality even in daylight is epic. The blacks are amazing for an LCD and there's no motion blur on sports. It's also a great gaming monitor!
And of course when you see that Dolby Vision HDR pop up in the corner it's clearer than a window!
HD animals drive my dog crazy.

I was in the same boat. I upgraded from a Samsung 46" 1080p...I could not believe how amazing the difference was...I still remember going from the 27" tube to the 46" and my wife being like "Um...why is the tv so big?"

alright...So this is really good bourbon...
Of course I did my own tasting and then read what others thought...
I got of course the typical vanilla caramel nose...
Taste was vanilla, toffee, sweet...with a cinnamon/black pepper tailing...segue into more oak and spice as the heavy proof hit lingers...
VERY nice especially for $30!

I've narrowed it down to the TLC 65" 6 Series or the Hisense 65" UG8. Having never used an Android TV but being a huge fan of Google makes this a tough one. I already really like the ROKU interface but what if Android is better? lol

 

Basically all the reviews for the TCL (I did my research) said that the TCL performs at 95% of the OLED LG's that are 4x-6x the price....Consumer reports and CNET called it amazing.

 

Which is the same thing they are saying for the 2021 Hisense. It pretty much took TLC out of the number 1 budget spot. Plus, the 2022 TLC series 6 is supposed to be 8K. With an actual decent upscaling chip. Fuck it. Maybe I'll just wait. lol

Slaved in the kitchen for about 4 hours today to make my own homemade gluten free donuts.
