never seen someone selling a cage, you might be able to find someone who broke an inner joint but still has the outer sitting around. :notsure:

I’ll keep an eye out. Worst case I find another CV that needs a rebuild. I only need the outer parts at this point for the +2” axles.

I've heard of people getting parts store CVs on LKQ though. I bought one from them a several months ago and got an OEM one.

I bought two from LKQ’s eBay store and had them shipped directly to JD. Turned out that one was OEM and one was aftermarket. They refunded me and I purchased another and it was OEM. I just made sure the listing said OEM just in case they didn’t want to accept the return. So yeah kind of a roll of the dice, but affordable.

This sounds like my saga. I fucked up 2-3 axles before I got lucky and found a pair of complete outer joints locally for $100. Good luck

Nah. I still have my stock FJ rack on the 39s. It's bigger than the Taco rack and seems to be doing fine except needing a pump upgrade for serious driving. I'm planning on the rack saver/assist and upgrade the pump to keep the shimmy to the minimum. The new hot thing is the LC200 rack though. You can check out the install on the FJ forums . I also heard the Marlin instructions are available as well.

If you already have them, not sure it's worth going to 934. The TC set are already decent, everyday do it all. I have Dirt King ones myself and have used it extensively. But I did order the 934s because I plan to do more stupid things, like sweet jumps in the future.

Finished up the Howe pump install. All I can say is what others have already said. Steering feels a bit lighter but I went out and did the mall speed bump test and holy shit….no more steering wheel bump. It’s actually a bit strange. That’s where I am. I haven’t built the axles yet. Still in the box. I’m always in the mindset of more it merrier because I want to push the limits. I know my rack now and axles are ticking time bombs

I can’t stress this enough! Single best mod you can do to a Tacoma hands down and it all bolts on with basic hand tools.

Welcome to the club. Told you, best thing ever besides @81Trekker good looks and fabulous fabrication skills (I'm waiting for parts and labor at JD so keeping him buttered up).

    Yes to the 1st one.

Scared that if I go back to the shop I’m going to spend more money. :spending:

that’s exactly what I thought. Lol I assumed that Harry needed all of the outer internals for the 934 orders.
