Hey guys, Ive recently manual swapped my 06 4runner which is essentially the same as the 2nd gen Tacoma. I'm trying to figure out how to use resistors to trick the ECU into thinking the auto is still functioning. Does anyone know where to find an auto trans pinout? Or where to begin. Thank you I'm flying blind

Subbed! I have been thinking about buying 4th gen runner and doing this. Have any pics of your swap?

Paging @6 gearT444E he is our resident electrical engineer. If anyone can help, there is a good chance he can.

I’ll be honest with you I don’t know off hand but I can do a little research. Myself, I was smart enough to just make sure I didn’t get the slushbox from the start. I’m sure it won’t be terrible difficult to trick the system, but may or likely will require tapping into the stock harnesses.

Hey thank you for the replies! It's a v6 1grfe I have the ECU from the manual taco but fuck repining the whole thing. I have resistors and everything but I ended up saying fuckit and removed all the solonoids from the auto and plugged them into the wiring harness. Now I have a dangle ball wrapped in electrical tape but no dtcs, the only thing I'm concerned about is the temp sensor.

https://www.4runners.com/threads/4th-gen-manual-swap-thread.16676/ here is the link to my swap. Very expensive, very worth it. Hardest part is the clutch pedal. Other than that swap took 2 weeks. Lots of blood, some sweat and tears.

Do you know if there's any way I can do a more legit way of emulating the auto to my ECU to make it happy?

Dude you rock, I'm handy with wiring and I can read diagrams I just don't have the information. If you can find any way it would be amazing
