Looking for best tires for road use only, no off road. Looking for a tire with good mileage, Not worried about snow, just rain. It's for a 19 SR 5, size is245/75R16, it's my daily driver, to and from work.

As many as I can fabricate
Firestone Destination LE3. Don't get caught up in the super duper, off road, 27 ply world. These tires will go 65k with a few alignments a year, and rotations at 5-7k. I'm out..lol

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
    Michelin LTX M/S2

Probably the best tires I've ever owned. Rated for 70k miles. Last set went over 100k before I noticed the tread was getting down there.

Oh there will be some mods all right
As two others already said, Michelin is the way to go for road use only.

While the Firestone Destination AT is technically an all-terrain, it's a very mild one. More like a slightly aggressive highway tire. Great traction, and super long treadwear. Got a little over 90k miles with them on my wife's Escape.

Yoko HT G056, General Grabber HT-S, Hankook HT all good economical highway tires.

Michelin LTX M/S is the best all around tire ever made, it will make up for its cost in reliability and performance.
