Day one of my vacation and I didn't do much of anything

Got the beater out and ran it like a red headed step child. That seems to have brought the valve seals around sorta, not so much smoke at idle now. Brought it home and cleaned it up a little bit...

(Yes, I know you guys are probably tired of seeing this thing by now, but I have no life and this is the junk I work on  The Tacoma keeps tickin' on and looks the same...)

Tracked most of my run issues down to the throttle position sensor or wiring. Wiring is a little sketchy and brittle, so a few test are in order. The $30 Bluetooth OBD2 scanner I bought has been a great help in tracing down the intermittent shitty running issues.

Might paint the wheels this week, thinking semi-gloss black, but who knows...

Of course the truck will get pampered this week as well. Friend needs help with some siding on her house first though. Get it dirty, then clean it :D

    Thanks! :fistbump:

I don't travel well so I pretty much do a "staycation" every time. Plenty of stuff to work on around here. Bathroom ceiling is looking pretty shitty so that shall get cleaned and painted along with a change of color for the walls while I'm at it. Jeep needs an oil change and tire rotation so that shall get done. So much other crap around here to do, but most likely will sit on the back porch enjoying the weather drinking beer

Those are some of the best vacations. Just knowing you don't have to get up and work for the man is a vacation within itself. We have saying in Pittsburgh that our staycation is called porchville. It's kind of a play on words for Port Vue , a small town south of the city.

With that white body and black roof I kinda like the silver wheels. Might just be me though, I know how popular black rims are these days.

I enjoy seeing what you are up to, it encourages me to get out and get working on something -- I don't much :( -- but it does encourage me.

i put these around, cheap and last for a few months. Seems to be working well. Keep any trash cans far away from the house and keep cats around, they seem to love sky raisins.
